Turning Point

Sorry for the delay in getting this week’s entry posted.  I needed a few days away from football after Thursday Nights 40-0 drubbing at the hands of the Ravens.  I posted that day that I had a bad feeling about the game.  I didn’t think it’d be 40-0 bad.  A nightmare game on display for the whole country – Miami are like 1-7 in their last 8 primetime wins according to Barry Jackson.  And now for the second year in a row, Miami have been blown out by a depleted Ravens club –  the two losses by a combined...

Dolphins! Still Not Normal…

It’s be a crazy week around ThePhins.com, and the game against the New York Jets was even crazier this week.  Just to set the table for this entry, here’s some nuggets to chew on: The Dolphins are now 13-4 in their last 17 regular season games. The Dolphins have won 12 consecutive games decided by 7 points or less. Matt Moore revealed after the game he does not get ANY 1st team reps in practice. Think about those two things.  Then consider Miami were down by 17 a the half a week ago against Atlanta.  Miami were down 14...

Dolphins R Not Normal

My job is such that every once in a while we do special events for charitable organizations on Sundays.  Today was one of those days.  Usually I can get out of them, but today was one benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project, a cause that’s near and dear to me.  Got to meet some really cool vets, including a guy who was 6’6″ who served in the Army’s 5th Special Forces unit.  It was a great event, but I did miss most of the game.  Travis (Aqua4Ever04) texted me and was giving me updates.  I made it home and to...

Offense Blows, but “D” is Dominant

Somehow, someway, Miami is 2-2 at the quarter pole of the season.  Somehow, someway, that record is actually BETTER than last year’s mark of 1-3 through four games.  Unbelievable.  My fiance and I took her mom out to dinner on Sunday night, so I didn’t get to writing a blog on Sunday.  Then the Chris Foerster video happened.  Straight out of ‘Ballers’ or, if you remember the short-lived ESPN series, ‘Playmakers’.  Absolutely unbelievable. Now, as I sit here on Tuesday having full taken in the events that transpired late-Sunday and into Monday, Miami’s got a trip to the Atlanta...

Running Back Into the Race

Jason Lieser, who covers the Dolphins for the Palm Beach Post along with Joe Schad tweeted this out on Wednesday: “Based on talking to Mike Pouncey today, sounds like running the ball is Plans A, B & C for the Dolphins this week.“ To me, this is the right mindset to have for the Dolphins going into the game against the Titans this weekend.  We all remember how Jay Ajayi burst onto the scene last year against the Steelers, though there were signs in the Bengals and Titans games last year that Ajayi was on his way out of...
