I think Brandon Prust is heading New York's way as well.

Jokinen is trash and Higgins and Kotalik are in that class. This is simply 2 teams wanting to trade bad contracts for bad contracts.

Well, if we keep playing like this, we might have a shot at Taylor Hall AND Tyler Seguin.

TSN's Bob McKenzie reported that the Bruins are open to trading Michael Ryder. Oh, you think so, doctor?

He's making $4 million this year and next, is having the most infuriating season of any Boston Bruin not named "Dennis Wideman", plays no defense and he couldn't score if he was locked in a hotel room with Lindsay Lohan and a shopping bag full of coke...wow, look at all the GMs lined up! Hey, one line people, no pushing! Everyone will get a chance to make an offer!

ESPN Rumor Central (sorry, ESPN Insider subscription) is reporting that the B's want to bring in Keith Tkachuk, which seems like fun since I think they've been trying to get Tkachuk for most of the last 15 years.

So is it safe to say that this group overachieved last year? I mean, what in the hell is going on?

Sometimes prospects don't pan out the way they were intended to.

Bruins at Sabres was one old school hockey game, I haven't seen that much fighting in a NHL game in awhile.

    Really?

This with the Coyote franchise just dying in the desert?

There is some traction behind this one. Last year, David Thomson (chairman of Thomson Reuters, my former employer) was rumored to be interested in buying the Thrashers and moving them to Winnipeg. But why they'd move Atlanta and not Phoenix is somewhat beyond me. What's more, by allowing someone to buy and move a team right now, that gives Jim Balsille some more ammunition in his attempt to buy the Coyotes and move them to Hamilton. There are differences, of course, but I would be a little surprised to see the league sign off on moving a team right now.

The number 1 problem is goal scoring. Like it or not, this team misses Phil Kessel greatly. I will add that I think they'd do that trade again 10 times out of 10, given that it looks likely that Toronto's first round pick this year will net them one of the two mega-prospects in this draft (Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin). But still, there's no denying that they miss Kessel's scoring touch.

Injuries have played a huge role: pick a top 9 forward and odds are he's missed some time. Bergeron, Savard, Lucic, Krejci, Sturm, all have missed a decent chunk of the season.

Lucic, Krejci, Ryder and Wideman have all been big-time underachievers this year. And Tim Thomas regressed from stellar last year to merely above-average this year.
