Eh...I like Spiller, Sheffield, and Thomas, but I think that needs some serious work. Work as in I'd prefer 1-2 more LBs and maybe a NT mixed in there. Barnes might be a late round find.
I agree it needs some work I don't see the Phins taking a RB in the first this year. I think Pat Anger in the 3rd round would be a steal.
Not a very good mock IMO. Picks two through four don't thrill me. The first pick doesn't thrill me either if we keep Ronnie Brown. Hoomanawanui is a blocking tight end who works the short underneath well IIRC.
as players I like CJ Wilson, CJ Spiller, Chad Jones and Cam Thomas. Not sure those are the guys I want drafting in those spots but its a decent mock in terms of helping Miami. Dont see Cam Thomas lasting till the 7th though
There are things i see wrong with this draft first Cam Thomas really has no shot at being in the 7 unless he gets injuried. Pat anger is way to small to play ILB in the 34. Chad jones is good but is he as good as Nate Allen at FS. And I don't see us drafting spiller sure he is a good player but NFL running back don't have long NFL careers and finding rbs isn't that hard. So to shorten it up I hate the draft.
Bro, Sheffield did go to Troy, he and Lang and Boris Lee are really good NFL prospects from that team. Sheffield shined at the Senior Bowl.
Oh that's right my bad I was thinking of the guy who tore his acl at senior bowl practice I can't think of his name right now
Not a very good mock. Cam Thomas falling to the 7th? Nuff said. I like Spiller, but taking a RB in the first with all the needs we have would be incredibly stupid.
for a ILB he is very Small Vilma is the same size and was in the 34 in New York and that didnt work out so well because of his size if you want to be a ILB in the 34 you need to be atleast 245 perferable in the 250's in the 230's that is just way to small to be taking on the line man
I'd much rather have Angerer's teammate, A.J. Edds. Best coverage backer in the draft, and at 6'4" 244 lbs has great size for the 3-4.
No Angerer is not very small for a college MLB coming into the NFL. Angerer is apparently 235lbs and is quite quick at that size. It's not inconceivable he could add ten pounds. Larry Foote has done just fine at 239 his whole career. D.J. Williams is heavier and yet has severe difficulties playing in the 3-4. As long as the player is at least 240 lbs it's mainly the ability to stack-and-shed which is all about leverage and technique. I've seen many large LBs that cannot for the life of them do this. As for Angerer that remains to be seen.

At least in this one we get a play making WR and still get a solid LB in round 2.
