Does anyone play? I play when I can. I play in free Tourney's, Cash games, and at Casinos. Thought it would be a nice to have a thread we can all talk about the game.
Your wife gets the other half? I've played on Party Poker (before they went anti US), Poker Stars (still do) and Full Tilt (don't like them, when I got to my first final table in a big tourney, my connection lagged)
I hate online but I realize not many ppl live a mile away from a poker room. What are ur favorite hands (Besides the winning hand)? I am a huge fan or 10 Jack suited
I play online on Pokerstars. I try to stick to tables with higher blinds because the number of donks on lower ones are unbelievable. When I lived in Miami I played at the Miami Jai-alai, Miccosukee Casino and Hard Rock. Favorite hand: J/10 suited
I play with friends and online, when i turn 21 in may ill play a lot since Hard Rock is 5 mins away walking distance
The Poker room I play at you only have to be 18 to play Poker. Its State regulated so you might be able to now
I have played in 3 WSOP events and will be playing in a WPT event this March....I have been to Vegas may times and a couple times had some nice scores at the 10-20 NL game at the Bellagio. My problem is those 5 dollar slots and alcohol influencing me to play really dumb blackjack stakes. As far as online poker goes I was playing in the Sunday Million at Poker Stars almost every week for awhile highest finish was 34th but I ruined that in a cash game. I dont play online poker hardly at all. Now I play local tourneys and card clubs on occasion. Oddly I play way better drunk, this past summer I won the $50 buy in tourny at my church while drinking close to 20 plastic cups of draft beer...infact I puked later in the night. Not the first time ive played better drunk I think the booze just takes the edge off.
Thats awesome Fin-O! I would love to go to Vegas and play in an event like that. I think I could do well but you need cards to help u. Poker is alot of skill but you need alot of luck and good cards dont hurt. I hate playing bad cards. I play in alot of 30-50 man tourneys and I do pretty good. Actually the last 4 that I entered I came in 2nd, Knock out early, 3rd, and 6th.
The envirement in a WSOP event is pretty mind boggling I went deep in the large fields everytime but cashed only once...me and Shanon Elizabeth were both leaning against a wall RIGHT NEXT TO EACHOTHER during one of the breaks (I got a smile thats it) all those guys on TV are short like me. Jennifer Tilly looked pretty ran down, had a beer gut. Andy Bloch actually knocked me out of one of the events when his Q-10 beat my 99 (all in pre-flop) the next day in the 2k event I was in the top 20 in chips already in the money had KK made a big pre-flop raise BB called with what else?He had QUEEN-TEN of spades....flop is 2 spades and a Queen, I push..he thinks for a few minutes and calls...turned a 10 for two pair and I was crippled and went out less than a half hour later. I dont blame him for the call since we were both in the $$.....he had top pair with a flush draw. Anyway IF you ever plan on playing in a big event like that be ready for a long mentally draining day. FYI
I used to play alot more than I do now. I've played in a few casinos around the country. For some reason I always play well outside of Florida. I've had so many cooler hands in Florida it is ridiculous. Lately I've played Full Tilt and at Daytona Poker Room. I seem to always get my *** handed to me at the Hard Rock casinos. I'm always running into AA when I'm holding AK, KK, or QQ.
Ouch that was a tough loss but I understand the call too. I actually got really lucky yesterday. I had K-10 off suit and a King on the flop. Guy next to me makes a big raise. I think about it and I pushed as I was down on chips and top pair with a decent kicker. He turns over pocket Aces!!!! I stood up cause I thought I was done. 10 came on the turn and I won! Two hands later I look down and get QQ!!! I make a reasonable raise amd the same guy I just beat pushes. I thought about and called. He turns over KK!!! I stand up and then a Q on the flop! Wow survive again. I have heard about the grueling days at tourney's.
Not far behind...2600 and some change at the Bellagio boat over boat and the guy was the biggest maniac at the table so I thought I had just doubled up. Most Ive ever won in a pot...around 3 grand....I have A-J and call a preflop raise in position flop A-A-J!!! He was pounding the pot and I just called all the way to the river then I moved in he insta called and tabled AK... It was nice to be on the right side of that.
Haha most i have lost is only 200 and most I ever won was 325. I guess I still have my floaties on lol
I love to play, but we keep it very small. As much as anything, it's about drinking beer, making horribly inappropriate jokes, and if you can win a few bucks, so much the better. I wouldn't want to play professionally or even semi-professionally. Just not for me. I salute those who do, though.
Yes the nights with the guys is really alot of fun. Does not matter how much u play for as long as you have fun IMO.
Never played with him, but I was playing at Ceasers and his brother was their drunk with one of the best looking asian chicks I have ever seen! He kept saying "Im Mike Matasows brother Im such a donkey" but he was playing extremely tight, thing is some people at the table didnt care and paid him off almost everytime. Table image is very important when I was obviously drunk people would automatically assume I was bluffing and paid me off more than they should have.
well if hes anything like mike, he's a donkey... i want to beat phil hellmuth just one time so he can get pissed he lost to an internet player lol...even tho i dont play anymore
From what ive heard Mike is a very tight player, he has a knack to make it far in big fields for a reason....he just makes dumbass moves from time to time but a real succesfull player nonetheless. I was a couple tables over from Phil in one event he is very tall and there is always a crowd around him. I think the blow ups are for TV to protect his image as "the poker brat"
I play live once and a while and just stopped playing online, got too boring. Places i've played poker at: Casino Montreal Casinorama Casino Niagara Seneca NF Turning Stone Foxwoods Borgata
I have no clue what the biggest pot I've won or lost is, as I really don't factor that in unless I'm factoring pot odds. I've probably only won $6-700 in a day and lost up to $500 in a day. I don't play anything bigger than $1/$2 no limit here in FL. The day they change the law to where I can buyin without a $100 limit is when I play different stakes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow, security must suck in Berlin because I was at the WPT just thursday and u couldnt get threw the door with a stick of gum! Lot of local home games get robbed though sad.
Here's some crazier video! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3-sADcD0DY"]YouTube- EPT Berlin fight FULL footage! Security vs "gunmen"[/ame]
well depending on when that video was recorded(i didnt watch), that might've been the reason for the extra security.
No in the US where ever theres lots of money there will be alot of guns. Security is very tight along with the billion cameras
