Ugh, should say "ARE there any regrets", but anyway..... Zach is the consummate pro. Peyton Manning hated playing against this guy, because (as Peyton put it) "he knew the plays before the ball was hiked". I think, if I am not mistaken, Zach was the key reason Manning has a losing record against Miami (please correct me if I am wrong on the W/L record). I really, really miss seeing that #54 fly around the field. His last couple of years with Miami were a little hard to watch because I just knew he was not the same player (regardless of # of tackles). Please sign this guy for a day so he can retire in a Dolphins uni!!! Link: HERE
I am seriously going to be upset if Ross doesn't sign Zach to a 1 day contract so he can retire a Dolphin, then Ross had better put Zach on the Ring of Honor at whatever we're calling home field these days.
I don't understand why Miami hasn't signed him for a day yet. He was the best player we had in the 2000's, and he didn't even play the last couple of years. He has been one of the most fun defensive players I have ever watched. He meant so much to me as a young fan, he was practically my hero. Please at least try to give him back a little something for everything he gave to us.
Why is everyone getting so worked up about this? I'm sure when the time is right, that is exactly how it will be handled. Just curious why it has to be sooner, rather than later....?
Zach is all you could ever want in a player. he will get snubed for the HOF, but we will never forget the blood, sweat, and tears he put into this team. For that, he will live forever.
I'm sure that it's in the works....but...maybe....it has something to do with this un-capped year and the way monies and cap space works before March 5th and after that date. I'm sure he'll be honored in someway
There's obviously some underlying animosity towards Parcells, which is a little surprising. Zach is a true professional and understands that his release was a performance/business decision, much like it was when he started. But, his release must have cut really, really deep for him to still have those feelings towards Parcells.
Good question ... The thing is, Zach seems to be everything that Parcells likes outside of the "prototypical" LB size. Zach's tough as nails, gives everything he has to the team, prepares like no other, has a great mind for the game, etc. From what I've gathered from Parcells, these are all qualities that he looks for and admires and maybe even demands from his players.
I don't think ZT should be signed to a one day contract yet. I think it should be an in season thing if possible. I know that might make it tougher with the roster filled out, but I'm sure the NFL would grant a one day roster exemption. That way he could honored at half time with all the fans there.
The naming rights to the current "Ring of Honor" is also available to the highest bidder! If you got the cash you could have the "PhinsRock' Magical Mystery Ring of Utter Excellence!"
If we could give him some state-of-the-art head protection I'd GLADLY TAKE THE ZACH BACK! ZACH-ATTACK!!!
Has a VERY nice "Ring" to it . . . BTW the first name I'd put up there would be Zach Thomas. JT would be soon to follow, but I think he has to be retired first and I'm not ready for that.
Perhaps Zach was getting old but, did say that Crowder was a really good LB. He has said little of any other player.
