Well I tried to overpay for players I wanted. You scoffed at it and said I was asking too much. Apparently I wasn't asking enough
yeah... you suck... "I'll give you a fifth for Will Allen... I'll give you a third for Cam Wake..." me: what do you value Sanders at? "I have had offers in the high 2nd round to mid 2nd round area, but I want more than that"...
Screw all you guys. I take chances, in the real world thats how you get ish done. Wow...I gave up too much for this or too much for that. The Rams were the WORST team in the NFL. One player from the draft wasn't going to make them a good team. If we played multiple yr GM leagues you best beleive I would do this alot different. I traded away an overpaid injury prone QB for two QBs with the potential to either revive thier careers or kick start them. IMO win for me. I traded away my Star RB and got a PB OL a stud up and comer RB and a great slot receiver. I picked up a TE for a third from Dallas that is a stud in the waiting, again, all about opportunity. I got a solid #1 WR something the Rams haven't had since the 90s, and I traded Long away for a solid corner and DT and depth at safety where I already have Butler and Weddle. I traded away my injury prone DT and a mediocre OG for a premier pass rusher who is only 30 yrs old and is proven in a 3-4 and a 4-3. Worst GM my a$$.
he's had plenty of chances, but he cant produce, to be honest. jerrah said somethin along the lines of "if he put time into football as much as he does on twitter, he'd be a pro bowl player", or something like that. hell i think john phillips, the #3 te, put up better numbers when bennett got hurt, and in less time. bennett is a freak and plenty of potential, but like parcells said, potential gets coaches fired.
Its your team Eric dont let people get to you, this is about having fun and seeing what YOU can do with what you got. MY TEAM WOULD BEAT YOUR TEAM BY 40 POINTS
I remember Jon Phillips in college. He's not great at anything but he wasn't bad in college. He was a pretty good blocker and was a decent underneath option. I liked him, honestly. Regarding Bennett, he's got a lot of talent but he's very dumb. I don't know what it is with him but he just doesn't get it. It's either he lacks intelligence, he has no work ethic or both. I can see why Big E traded for him though. Talent always gets a second opportunity in this league and it's no different with Bennett.
Jeez people take this game way to seriously. I thought BigE won both the Dallas and Colt trade. Especially if Sanders is healthy.
E's doing fine IMO. You gotta take some risks to be good. Some may disagree with what he got but he's got a lot of nice talent to work with. I really like the Jerraud Powers add-on. EDIT: I didn't even see the Pat Sims throw-in. That's a nice nose prospect.
I know he filled in quite a bit of holes and Chris Long hasn't produced yet. Bottom line is both parties got what they wanted they are happy with the moves so lets move on.
The Rams are screwing around with Long, much like the Texans did with Mario Williams in his first season. Long is moving around the line too much. He played both end spots last year. I don't know what's going on in their heads.
yeah, john phillips. i remember him from somewhere. oh yeah, from when i drafted him last year. i like him. kinda a tweener te who can compliment a great receiving te.
I never really saw sims as a nose prospect but he will be a productive player for him. Powers I hated to move but hes a good young cheap player. FYI I do now need CB's if anyone has some to deal
phillips, when he finally got in the field, was pretty good. and imo, outplayed bennett bigtime, so i couldnt pass up the #1 pick in the 3rd round for bennett. phillips was a late round pick, bennett a 2nd round pick. phillips had 1/2 the production in less playing time compared to martyb. im not gonna wait to see if this talent (martyb) will step up when i got just as good a player in phillips, and can still pick up a high pick. i love his videos, but he's driving dallas fans crazy with his lack of production.
A poor mans' Fasano IMO. I know what you mean. I'm not a Dallas fan but I've watched him quite a bit, going back to his time in college and he was a bit difficult to watch at times lol. But like I said, talent gets a second opportunity.
Nah, not accurate at all. Marty B is stuck behind one of the better TE's in the league. Phillips is better? Not even close....not even in the same ballpark. He is a nice complimentary TE, he is indeed Joey Haynos. Nothing more nothing less. Marty B, in the right setting, given a little maturity, is going to be an absolute MONSTAH. Oh, and BTW, he likes Capn Crunch in case nobody knew
spags is trying to install the giants defense i would imagine. unfortunately for him he doesnt have the talent he had in new york. chris long is an average DE, nothing special. Horrible draft pick
oh i dont wanna hear that he's stuck behind witten. dallas is mainly in a 2 tight end formation. when passes are goin his way, he drops some of em. all you have to do is watch the hbo show that spotlighted dallas 2 years ago. yeah he's gotten better than those days, but he's still falling short of where he needs to be. he's immature and just cant put it all together unfortunately. at some 6'8 265, with his skill level, he should be putting up much better numbers than 15 catches. all the talent in the world, but aint got squat in his head besides ideas for his next rap. if, not when, he finally puts it together, i agree, he'll be a darn good player. but more often that players like him just dont do much other than have the label of "potential." just sayin.
I had DT as the Bucs #1 area of improvement, and trading for Dorsey gets me a guy who I think can excel as a DT in the Tampa 2. He's been miscast as a 3-4 DE in KC. I'm going to miss Winslow, he was basically Tampa Bay's passing offense last season. But I like this draft in terms of what's available regarding TE talent, plus there are some guys I like in FA. Sean's passing offense is going to be off the charts next year with Driver, Wayne, and now Winslow catching passes from Cassell. EDIT - And Nate Washington.
Good trade for both... only thing is not sure how Sean is going to keep these guys under the salary cap.
yeah from a pure value stand point, me I need depth as I have gotten rid of alot of older vets. also cleared almost 17 mil in cap space. Ellis at 32 was not worth 4.65 mil. as you said something instead of nothing
Exactly! Something is better than nothing. For me, I have a stable of young DE's but not as much size as I need for the 3-4. Ellis next to Jamal Williams and Campbell or Branch on the other side fills my starting Dline pretty well.
Well, its what they have been runnung for a couple of years, my new DC is Pees from NE, and I traded pretty heavily for Jamal Williams. Nope, no 3-4 here
jasofopahdf'aowehrtoih.... I haven't made a trade in over a week now... withdrawals... can'toah typeiern''..... asdofhaosdhfasdlf
I'm up to 8 trades ... and I don't know if you saw our Tent Sale or not. Prices so low we're practically giving people away ...
