the bears have a lot of holes on defense for sure but shouldnt they focus on their offensive line so they can protect their investment he got killed last season just another fine example of why jerry angelo is a horrible gm imo
Let the Fun begin. Who says Christmas is only in December?! When I wake up tomorrow I want a cardinal (any of the three will do) under my palm tree
its true they gave up picks for cutler and sent a second for gaines adams which didnt work out so well its a lame duck situation there for the HC and the gM anyway and with 25 mill to spend i guess they dont mind spending however they can to win right now. Tall order they will shop olsen to get a pick you would think martz as the oc would want a weapon or someone to protect his qb just sayin'
haha..couldn't agree more. In fact my wife had Cutler in her FF line up last year. Man, at one point she was ready to drive up to Chicago and kill the guy herself. But it was really lack of protection for the most part. That's where they need to place their FA focus - on that OL.
Oh I agree 100%...gotta strike whatever position you can and fast I guess though...not great OL talent out there, at least that I can remember, without compensation
It's a mistake, I think. Or at least the Dolphins should be talking to Atogwe as well. EDIT: That said, if it's between us and the Giants, we've basically won. Rosenhaus said he'd give the Cards first right of refusal except if Rolle chose the Dolphins, because that's the team he really wants to play for.
For a team that publicly said they were happy with their safeties and expected them to play much netter next year they sure jumped fast trying to upgrade the position lol!
I remember hearing Ireland back up Wilsons play, but no comments on Bell. There has been some speculation Bell might be cut for Wilson. I would find it hard to believe both are retained if we grab a true FS in the draft or FA.
The Giants are expected to offer free agent FS Antrel Rolle a deal averaging $8 million annually during a Friday visit. The visit is pending, with Rolle possibly taking a deal elsewhere sooner than that. Rolle has reportedly turned down a six-year, $38.6 million offer from the Cardinals. He is targeting a whopping $40 million over five seasons. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/gi...:+nydnrss/blogs/giants+(Blogs/The+Blue+Screen Count me out at that price.
I'm sure there are other safeties who don't think they are God's gift. Getting Dansby or Rolle would be fantastic, getting both would cause dancing in the streets.
This is home for both of them. If its close I would expect Miami has a really good shot. Especially when we take into account no state income tax. That's HUGE.
Yea he wants to beat what Bart Scott got. I still think Rolle for that kind of money is not worth it. He wants top 5 money which is just ridiculous.
They'll probably offer him Bart Scott money with the hope that the lack of taxes busts it over the top.
I still don't believe they truly want him as a SOLB unless they want him to play SOLB on early downs with perhaps Larry Foote-Crower inside and then move inside to ILB on pass downs. Still think he's a better ILB.
Well thats the beauty, Dansby gives us the option on how to use him. I think with the money he wants, starting him at SOLB justifies the contract he wants but I would expect him to be moved all over the place.
I think an ILB that can cover and fulfill all the requirements of a 3-4 ILB should be paid more than a SOLB to begin with. How many ILBs honestly can cover in this league and I mean cover well not just go into a mediocre short zone (we couldn't even do that).
Man, that's a lot of dough a year for him. I love Rolle but would rather not spend that much money on him.
I personally am not excited about Rolle. Just plain don't think he is that good. I think hes better then what we have, but not that good. I also don't like Otogwe. Big play people who tend to get burned.
I agree 100%. He would never come off the field. If we only could sign only 1, I would rather have Dansby.
Rolle turned down the Cardinals offer because it had only 10 million guarenteed. Which isn't that great of an offer. Especially since he was to make 12 mil next year if he stayed.
