Correct Boldin info. This is pissing me OFF!!!! whats wrong with our front office? Report: Pats are favorites to land Boldin The National Football Post's Aaron Wilson reports the Patriots are the front-runners to land Anquan Boldin. Mar. 5 - 3:54 pm et Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter
Get used to this current WR group we have. Marshall gone. Boldin gone. Broncos will now likely draft Bryant. Antonio Bryant will probably be asking for a lot seeing how Nate Burleson is "worth" 5-years / $25 million.
then what?? no Q, no Brandon, he is going to Seattle on Saturday to see if they can work something out......so where does that leave Miami and their VAUNTED passing attack...Walter, A. Bryant, Coles....hmmmm??? Forget Dez, if Seattle grabs him, they use the 6th pick on Dez, or the 10 whatever they hell they have....they will have 2 before Miami.....another year of Ginn sucking, and 13 minute drives.... Guys they are sooo screwing up this Marshall thing...I can't take....and now the PATSS!!!!!!!!!! are in the mix!!!! dude I cant...
Most people will label this as a "sky is falling" post but this is all so true. Very disappointed to see everyone else making the moves they need to improve.
I can't stand the sight of Boldin in a Pats uniform. That is truly vomit-inducing. Not to mention the sight of Cromartie in a Jets' uniform. =(
This is my thinking, especially since New England has three second round picks. I sure do love that FO. When they want something, they go and get it. They don't sit around and worry about the price.
well i think we have to get T.O. in here if this really happens, Jets : Cromartie Pats: Boldin Miami: FREAKIN NUTHIN
lol i agree but it looks like FA wrs are going to get thin real quick. id rather have chambers back than TO.
Acutally, the Broncos would get Seattle's 6th pick, and they would probably draft Bryant, not the Seahwaks.
That's also because Moss is a free-agent after next year and they can just give Boldin a deal along the lines of whatever Moss is making. That should satisfy Boldin's constant demand for more money...maybe.
You guys do realize that the Patriots haven't won **** since they added guys like Welker, Moss and other high priced free agents, right? Championships aren't won on March 5th. Besides, Boldin can barely stay on the field long enough to catch anything these days. He is an injury concern and really not worth more than a third in my opinion. Please remember, the MAIN TARGET of this regime is in town and meeting with Ireland and Co. as we speak. We lock up Dansby and I am happy. Of course, if he gets away, than the e-tar and feathering of this regime can commence.
thats what I meant, my head is about to EXPLODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and lets say Dansby tell us to buzz off......can ya see it coming??
Absolutely nothing is wrong with our FO...We have more holes to fill than just a #1 WR. Giving away a draft pick(s) just makes the ultimate goal of filling more holes that much more difficult. Boldin, while certainly filling the bill is somewhat injury prone, aging and wouldn't be happy without a big, big contract. Again, I didn't say he wouldn't help us out right away, but what about ILB, NT, FS, G, TE, etc ??
If he gets away it'll most likely be because Washington will always offer a dollar more than anyone else. That's why I'm not holding my breath on Dansby. Peppers going to Chicago throws a wrench in the works.
Crap, we'll have to settle for Earl Thomas then. Oh the horror of adding another young gun to the secondary!
Hell I'm 6'3" good hands moderate speed and pissed as heLL! so I' would be a good WR pickup for Miami now.. I'd run over everyone in the league...... Ok I'll put the beer down, I'd try to run over everyone in the league till I had my *** kicked....... I'm just so disgusted with us sitting on our hands today. Next thing we read is Parcells is taking Dansby to the Airport to go meet with the Giants and Redskins.....
You're form Northern California...what would you know about it? I don't think Peppers was anywhere NEAR our radar. Not sure how his deal screws up anything for Dansby, unless you think his guaranteed money is gonna price Dansby out of our range.
I think he meant that now that Washington didn't get Peppers, they'll go after Dansby, throw a **** load of cash at him and he'll go there instead of Miami.
Not if the pick you give away fills a hole you would have filled with that very draft pick. Last year we used our 3rd on Pat Turner. If we used this year's on Anquan Boldin, I'd say that would be an excellent way to spend the 3rd round pick. Doesn't look like we're going to be players in the WR free agency sweepstakes. Sucks, because you'll have to spend big eventually to find that guy; we've proven we can't find it in the draft. The last "elite" receiver the Dolphins drafted was who, Clayton?
The Patriots went 18-0 then losing in the final 30 seconds of the superbowl on a freak play and catch. They got A LOT better when they went from Jabarr Gaffney and Deion Branch to Welker and Moss from 2006 to 2007. And IIRC, the Giants were a mediocre passing offense, then obtained Plaxico Burress through FA. They then won a superbowl like 18 months later, were 11-1 and the most potent offense in the NFC the next year until he shot himself and was thrown off the team. And they've been nothing more than an above passing O since. So a juggernaut with Plax. Slightly above average without.
To compound on that, the league as a whole is starting to migrate to more passing and less running.... gets more yards faster. A corollary of this is higher prices for better receivers, and this leads back to my "you have to pay to play" comment. I don't see us as big spenders on offense in free agency, unfortunately.
If NE is in fact serious on getting Boldin, they are going to get him, Miami has no shot, because NE doesn't have a 3rd via the Burgess trade, which meansssssss they would have give up one of their 2nd's (44, 47, 54), that trumps a Miami 3rd.....so Miami would have to give a high 2nd, never gonna happen.......the only shot is KC's 2nd that is better than any of NE.....but then there is the Todd Haley factor.... TheAnswer I hope you are right bro......
That and a bag of chips will get you lunch. The point is, every year we all freak out about the Pats and their moves and quite frankly, it smacks of panic and desperation on ours and their parts. Thay haven't won with their newerfangled strategy of picking up veterans and high priced free agents at the wide receiver position. Yes, they are dangerous and yes they are flashy, but they still haven't cashed that in. And besides, it looks like they weren't even true players for Boldin, so all of this is much ado about nothing.
