I believe Graham gives us our Lamar Woodley we need a tenacious dominant disrupting defense i have so desperately been wanting to upgrade this linebacking corps we just havent been getting it done sitting on our hands i make everyone angry daily but that it has to happen to move forward remember ive been saying it since i been here the fo has been listening
PFT confirms what I have been saying. They say the Giants want Rolle, but Fins are going hard after him
I believe that with the signing of Dansby, that Graham is all but off the table at #12 (as if he were every on it). Dansby all but fills ILB/SOLB spot. Torbor will probably start at ILB with Dansby at SOLB. Then on 3rd down Dansby replaces Torbor and JT or Wake comes in at SOLB as a blitzer. Even if Wake is the fulltime WOLB, we tendered MOses for a reason and Anderson is a good blitzer as well. Not to mention that a situational blitzer is easy to find in the later rounds. Brandon Graham will not be a Dolphin. Take that to the bank. Miami will likely focus on CJ Spiller, if not Dan Williams. If we sign Rolle, no way Earl Thomas or Berry is going to be considered either. So I say right now Spiller, Williams, or Gresham or Demaytrius Thomas are possiblities at #12 or trade down.
I agree, though my preference is Atogwe. Definitely excited about Dansby though. Like someone said before, I think my wants in round 1 in the draft has shifted from McClain to Brandon Graham.
I'd rather sign Rolle because signing Otogwe will be a waste since all STL will do is match whatever we offer, so we will basically be being used to gauge what offer for them to offer him. It's basically the only reason why they tendered him as they did. To see what to pay him. Get us Rolle, Otogwe is an unfaithful call girl.
No reason for concern, I'm told. (Nothing like Pennington situation) The terms are in place, and the deal has been agreed upon. per Darlingtons twitter
Just got home from dinner and what great news!!! Now we should go after Brandon Graham....he can play the ILB and rush the passer when needed. I also wouldn' mind picking up LB Will Witherspoon who the Eagles just released.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d816c25b2&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true Free-agent LB Dansby, Dolphins agree to five-year, $43 million deal NFL.com Wire Reports The Miami Dolphins released two linebackers Friday and added a third -- free agent Karlos Dansby. One of the big prizes on this year's market, Dansby visited the Dolphins in the opening hours of NFL free agency. All it took was the NFL's richest deal for a linebacker to keep Dansby from visiting any other teams. By Friday night, Dansby and the Dolphins had agreed to a five-year contract worth $43 million, with $22 million guaranteed, a league source told NFL Network's Jason La Canfora. Dansby is scheduled to make an average of $9 million over the first three years of the deal. Dansby, who has played inside and outside linebacker, became an unrestricted free agent after six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, but La Canfora cited a league source in reporting Friday that the team was making a strong push to keep the linebacker. Apparently, Arizona's efforts weren't enough. To make room for Dansby, the Dolphins terminated the contracts of disgruntled outside linebacker Joey Porter, inside linebacker Akin Ayodele and free safety Gibril Wilson on Friday. Porter, a four-time Pro Bowler who was chosen to the NFL's All-Decade team in January, was released last month, but he returned to the roster because of a salary-cap technicality. He had campaigned to be released while complaining about his reduced role last season and his relationship with coach Tony Sparano. Wilson struggled in his only season with the Dolphins. He received $8 million guaranteed when he signed last year. Ayodele was a two-year starter at inside linebacker, but Dansby offers more big-play ability. The former Cardinals star has 25.5 sacks, 10 interceptions, 12 forced fumbles and nine fumble recoveries in his NFL career.
The fact that NYG have not signed Rolle yet and the fact that reports out of KFFL say that the Giants are also showing interest in Otogwe tells me that Rolle is bluffing on the NYG and is leaning on joining his teammate in Miami. Miami is just basically playing poker with Rolle. Its obvious with the fact that they let go of Wilson already. The release of Porter and Ayodele was the writing on the wall that Dansby was ours. The release of Wilson is the writing on the wall that Rolle is ours too.
ESPN's John Clayton has more details on Karlos Dansby's lucrative contract with the Miami Dolphins. Dansby never has been selected to a Pro Bowl, yet he becomes the NFL's highest-paid inside linebacker with a five-year deal worth $43 million. That's more than Brian Urlacher or Ray Lewis gets paid. Seems like pro bowl money for a non-pro bowl guy, we'll see.
I am hoping that we think NOSE... Fergy needs to be replaced and there is some talent out there in the draft...
Yeah, you know lost in all this jubilation over signing Dansby is the fact that we got to cut Porter...twice. Man oh man, next to winning a championship, it just doesn't get much better than this.
just dont give the guy Ed Reed or Polamalu $ and I'm good with bringing him in. Next stop, Antonio Bryant junction.
If money was similiar i'd certainly rather play for Miami than for St. Louis...I mean think about it...St. Louis intentions might be to guage the market but why would any player wan't to play for them as opposed to any other team right now? If I had to weigh my options St. Louis would have to offer significantly more money for me to stay there as opposed to go to a winning team. I'm not sure Rolle is out of the picture yet though, with Dansby signing here and no news out of NY yet you know the two are talking...if we get Rolle and Dansby both we got some serious upgrades on D where we really needed them and with Nolan running it it's pretty hard not to get excited about next year
