antonio bryant has signed a 4-year deal with the Bengals per report on Profootballtalk.com. www.Profootballtalk.com
Still holding out on the Marshall dream.... Henne must be getting frustrated though, watching all these targets go not to Miami...
I really hope we make a run at Ben Watson. Going into Draft 2010 with the same Wr Corps and same Te corps does not seem like a good idea to me...at all..
Dammit. I really wanted to see Ocho Cinco and Ocho Uno on the same team. Would have been hilarious. Bengals could have cashed in on a lot of TV time with those two knuckle-heads.
He's not that much better than what we already have IMO I think that's why the FO didn't go after him. I think the only reciever they'd pickup right now would be Marshall because it's a clear upgrade, no sense replacing average with other average players even if they might be slightly better. It's not going to help much in the end. What we need is a legitimate number one.
I highly doubt Marshall is even being considered by this regime. The deadline to offer him a contract is Thursday night (im pretty sure). Things would have to progress very rapidly between now and then.
Must say I am also glad he is not a Fin. Stick to the draft or hold out until next year when the FA market will be loaded with all of this years FA that were not able to hit the market along with next years crop as well. Fix the Defense this year and things will be looking bright for our future.
Simon (Boomer) and the SMU coach he interviewed in the Sun Sentinel blog made a pretty good case for Emmanuel Sanders of SMU. He had good combine numbers as well. 4.39 unofficial 40, 4.41 official time.
With Antonio Bryant off the board, we may just see a late push for Marshall. Don't be shocked. To me, it all depends on the contract Marshall would want. Both Dez and Marshall will have some personality drawbacks, but Marshall would get paid a lot more and I am not sure that's in the regime's budgetary allocation at WR.
It's not in our budget because Marshall would get paid the highest contract at his position in NFL history, so there's nothing to see. Very low chance he gets considered.
Much of that depends on which Fasano shows up. He was much better in 2008 than 2009. Not sure if it was the switch from Penny to Henne or confidence after the Atl game, or what. But, if he can return to at least his 2008-form, it wouldn't be nearly as bad.
It's actually sometime in April is the deadline for RFA's. Wikipedia said april 21st, and last year it was april 17th. He isn't in our price range, but we can dream can't we? lol
Antonio will look perfect with them: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMYmc4cQSuk"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMYmc4cQSuk[/ame]
While thats good and I really didn't want him here anyways because of his past troubles and seemingly bad attitude... I'm really frustrated that we've done nothing to address our lame passing attack. I know, I know... draft is still to come. I know, I know... the WR's we have are serviceable... but the thing is, nobody really has that big play ability on our offense. We still aren't going to scare teams at all with our passing attack. Something needs to be done to address the WR position.
He is very talented but kinda short 5'-11". I think we should be looking for a tall fella who can win the grab balls from the DB's. I do like Tate though....just not as our primary WR.
Well, whomever we draft they had damn well better be our Primary reciever. The last thing we need on this team is another #2 or slot guy!
I dont care what ANYONE on this forum says...we were actually a few receptions from being in the playoffs! As much as I hate T.O., he would have made those catches. End of discussion....
I agree for only one year, maybe an option for a second but that's it. Only thing i'm worried about TO is if his age will show this season or not?
the defense was the reason they weren't in the playoffs....coulda woulda shoulda, they werent good enough..... ohhh and Marshall has a better shot than TO coming to Miami...
Very good, but guess who can keep our defense OFF the field? Our offense could by converting 3rd downs and keeping drives alive.
