People are talking about mcfadden like hes the 2nd coming of christ but for less money and a 2nd rounder we could pick up kevin smith who has proven he can stay healthy despite carrying the ball 40 times a game. (something ronnie cant say) No he didnt run against the best defenses in the world but he was still behind a CUSA oline. I say we go after the best pick availible which i dont think is mcfadden, and then pick up k smith to pick up where ronnie cant. (How often does it take 2 years to heal an ACL?)
No one is real sure 24K is coming out. If he does a lot depends on his 40 time...more so than most elite runners. He is rumored to be a 4.6 type guy...if he is a 4.6 he is a top of 2 guy IMHO, if he is 4.5 or so then he is a R1 guy...if he runs a 4.7...trouble for him. He is productive but is an upright runner that has a high impact zone (upright runner)that leads to dings particularly shoulders and torso, which is his history. He is a chance. Run DMC has low pads drives thru contact and despite being somewhat of a finesse runner can take a blow better than 24K. Run DMC is THE class RB of the last 3-4 years IMHO..........
i think we have the backs we need, we need a new coach, new play calling, a new qb, more defensive players and not such bad luck with injuries.
My 2 Cents... I can't agree more about 24K. Rumors out of UCF are he's a 4.6-4.7 40 runner, and his injury history is known. He also seems a bit soft emotionally, 'losers limp' type of guy. Coming out early would be a good option, staying means 400 more carries 2000 more yards and a Ron Dayne label as far as "being all used up" goes. Like buying a 2 year old car with 100K miles on it.
not only kevin smith, but you have a ton of quality RBs in the draft... and on our team ! If we don't want to stick with chatman, brown, williams, booker, gado .... there are plenty of options for a 2nd RB.... callender, smith, forsett, choice, hart, rice, etc etc... we could snag one of them with our 32nd pick
