If Bryant is there don't we take Bryant? Is Miles a one year wonder?

I don't think so. I think he's great with a bright future ahead. I would love this move. We'd still have the same amount of picks, a 1st round pick, and a stud #1 WR who gets a lot of YAC.

However, I doubt Dallas would do this. IIRC, J. Jones loves Miles Austin

I see Dallas locking Austin up but I wouldn't complain with us trading for him. He's a legit big play threat, I think he'd fit in great here among our group of WR's. Teams would simply have to account for him and that would leave Ginn one on one and one of our other guys with a bum CB or LB on them, it would add a lot to our team IMHO.

I don't quite understand that... That deal seems to really not do anything for the Cowboys? I mean they get Bryant, but they've been in love with Austin since his season last season...

that would be awesome....its like us getting 2 first round picks. we "draft" a young wr in austin....and still get to a olb in the 1st round. that would rock.

    I read through the reasoning...

In all likelihood, the Cowboys would probably be looking to make some kind of trade down package for us, and give up an extra pick. Not to mention the likelihood is that they'd be looking to go sooner than us, because it's clear we're interested in WR as well.

It just seems like a really huge leap to me to get to that spot

No way this happens, but I'd be all over it. Then we could use that late 1st and still get a great player (presumably, it is the draft) to help sure up the defensive side of the ball.

they wont give up Austin.....maybe a pick in next years draft....but I think they would like to get Bryant, and cut Roy Williams...

I doubt even Rick Spielman makes that trade with the value of Austin. Naturally, because this regime drafted him, any thought of him getting traded starts here, but JJ isn't stupid (except when it came to TO)...so I doubt this happens and if this is really being offered and the troika hasn't said yes yet, then they are much worse personnel guys than I ever dreamed...

too good to be true. i could see dallas trading #27 and a 2nd or 3rd, for #12. but why would they give up Austin?

Yeah, don't forget Jerra also gave up I believe a 1st, 2nd and 5th for Roy Williams.
Sorry, but in regards to football talent, he is kindve stooooopid. The wise personell moves hardly ever have him in the picture

I will say that Dallas has indeed shown quite a bit of interest in Dez already, and he is a hometown kid.....IF there was any truth what-so-ever, it would happen if and when Dez fell to the 12.
I will also say, Parcells absolutley LOVES Miles Austin. That was a serious crown in his cap IIRC.

I'd do it in a heartbeat but this is all speculation by Hyde based on Dallas' interest in Dez Bryant. It could and probably is Roy Williams that they're trying to replace, not Miles Austin.

though we have made a couple deals with Dallas, i see almost no chance in the world of this happening.

    Nope...no chance at all.

Why oh why would they develop a player, or choose that player to be developed, only to then trade for them 3 yrs later?

These folks are stingy with draft picks, i'd bet they plan on developing their own "Miles Austin" could be Julius Pruitt, could be Taurus Johnson..maybe even Pat Turner.
