I just purchased a Gateway M680 with a 17 inch monitor off of ebay everything works fine except for the prior owner had it setup to run on dual monitors.

The driver is a Radeon Multiple Monitor rx700.

To cover the fact that the laptop monitor was supposed to be dual pane, they jacked up the resolution to 1700+ pixels which makes every webpage tiny, and causes youtube videos to play in two halves with a top and bottom moving in different directions.

Need a new driver on this puppy or ???

Just rechecked, there is no default setting on the resolution panel, just:

1 in the foreground and 2 in the background.

And identify..troubleshoot...let me recheck the advanced tab

in display setting you should be able to disable that second monitor which is the #2 you see
after that you should be able to set the resolution for your #1

You'd think the problem is the display driver itself is meant for a dual monitor setup,
