I have 1. Where did the RB you chose from Fresno St at? I saw you picked him then all the sudden Pete has him...
keep askin questions, youll be sleepin with the fishes if you know what i mean. im not sayin anything, im just sayin.
Me and Pete swapped picks. I picked Miller for him and he picked Harbor for me. I just changed my pick afterwards to reflect that.
just asking because it vanished plus nothing reported in the trade thread. Alen you're having a great draft IMO. Thats to be expected though
Question for you if you don't mind me asking. Forgive me if I peg you wrong on this but didn't you draft Rashawn Jackson earlier? You plan on carrying two full-backs?
Pretty good IMO. McCoy alone gives you an excellent draft getting him at 6. Love the Harbor and Asante picks and like the Ducasse and White picks quite a bit too. What do you think about my draft so far? 1: 22- Jared Odrick, DE/NT, Penn St. 2: 51- Rob Gronkowski, TE, Arizona 3: 71- Chad Jones, S, LSU 4: 114- Lamarr Houston, DE/DT, Texas 5: 149- Donovan Warren, CB, Michigan 160- LeGarrette Blount, HB, Oregon 6: 164- Darryl Sharpton, ILB, Miami 170- O'Brien Schofield, OLB, Wisconsin 189- Willie Young, OLB, NC St.
I plan on it, since Willie Rose has enough speed and more than plenty of skill to play as both a RB and FB. He has soft hands, can block pretty well.... basically, he's your throwback fullback mixed with a jack of all trades. (That I can attest two from watching him live plenty of times).
Thanks man. Love your draft. There are a couple guys I'm not really fans of but it was late and well worthy of the gamble.
ok, alen, stitches, vengeful and others.... what do you think of our draft (me and silverphin) which we love and are very happy with???.... Round 1, 9th Pick Jimmy Clausen/QB/Notre Dame Round 2, 9th Pick Navarro Bowman/OLB/Penn State Round 2, 17th Pick Ryan Matthews/RB/Fresno State Round 3, 9th Pick Taylor Price/WR/Ohio University Round 3, 26th Pick John Jerry/OT/Mississippi Round 4, 8th Pick Rashawn Jackson/FB/Virginia Round 5, 9th Pick Garrett Graham/TE/Wisconsin Round 5, 31st Pick Armanti Edwards/QB/WR/Appalachian State Round 6, 9th Pick Jeremy Williams/WR/Tulane Round 6, 23rd Pick Walter McFadden/CB/Auburn Round 7, 9th Pick Willie Rose/FB/Florida Atlantic University
Honestly, I like it. I'm a fan of Bowman and I like Matthews. I think Price has good potential. Jerry is a incredibly strong OG that needs some work on technique but he's got upside. I don't know about taking a FB in the 4th round but we all have our own values on each position. I personally don't put much thought into drafting a FB before the sixth round but then again, I like H-Backs more. What's Armanti going to do for you guys? Slash player? I like McFadden pick a lot. I considered him in the 4th round when I was debating between him and Walter Thurmond III. I second guess myself on that pick still but I go with what I got. McFadden is slight build but physical and has played both slot and outside. That's huge IMO. Slot is not easy to play. I don't know much about Rose but according to Silverphin's assessment, seems like another Brian Leonard type. Versatility is never bad, especially late.
i also like matthews. it was difficult watching him fall as far as he did without smashing the piggy bank.
I'm not a huge fan of Jimmy Clausen. Not sure why, he's just come off as too arrogant and cocky for my tastes. Regardless, you needed a QBOTF (Quarterback of the Future), and Clausen is as good a prospect as Bradford. Bowman, as I said originally went a little early for my tastes, and I'm not sure how he fits into your 3-4 defense as I see him as undersized. Matthews is a nice value for you and should offset the loss of Lynch. Price and Jerry are both nice values where you got them. Price has drawn comparisons to Johnny Knox. Williams in Round 6 is a very good value, as is McFadden. Seems like you have a lot of guys who do similar things for you in the late rounds. Jackson is a FB, but I see some H-Back potential in both Rose and Graham. That's a lot of your draft spent on specialty players. I probably would have switched out a few players here and there, but I'd say it's pretty solid. Overall, as you said you guys love it, and that's the important thing - as long as you are following your plan that's what's important.
You got good to great value with pretty much all of your picks, which is how you have a winning draft. I love Odrick. Gronkowski and Jones are also solid players. I like both Sharpton and Schofeild quite a lot. I was looking at DT prospects earlier and saw you nabbed Houston ... he's another solid 3-4 DE candidate IMO. Nice job doubling up with similar players in Odrick and Houston. Blount and Young are the question marks for me, but you're getting them very late in the process ... they are boom-or-bust types and if they work out then you'll look like a genius. Overall very nice.
greaat pick Gish. Crompton might be the steal of this draft. That was my pick if he lasted. Now I must kill you
here's my draft. overall pretty pleased #1 (15) 750,000 CB Joe Haden Florida #1 (25) from Steelers 700,000 OLB Sergio Kindle Texas #2 (46) 650,000 RB Jahvid Best California #3 (76) 550,000 WR Riley Cooper Florida #4 (106) from jaguars 400,000 CB Perrish Cox Oklahoma State #4 (113) 400,000 TE Andrew Quarless Penn State #5 400,000 DT Jeff Owens, Georgia
You running 3-4? I was surprised by the Cooper pick, tbh. He runs good routes and is strong but he has a case of the dropsies. I've seen it both on tape in games and at the Senior Bowl practices. I knew you would take Cox. Talented but a character risk and lazy. However, I know you like him a lot.
27. Dallas Cowboys - Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho 55. Dallas Cowboys - Charles Brown, OT, USC 59. Dallas Cowboys - Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford 65. Dallas Cowboys - Javier Arenas, CB, Alabama 69. Dallas Cowboys - Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, CB, Indiana 127. Dallas Cowboys - Dan Lefevour, QB, Central Michigan 141. Dallas Cowboys - Myron Lewis, CB, Vanderbilt 167. Dallas Cowboys - Antonio Coleman, LB, Auburn 187. Dallas Cowboys - Colin Peek, TE, Alabama with 3 more picks left. pretty dadgum solid imo. there have been a couple positions ive slacked on, but with the value still on the board (brown, lefevour) i had to take em.
Round 1 (30) - Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers Round 2 (62) - Cam Thomas, DT, North Carolina Round 4 (98) - Jon Asamoah, G, Illinois Round 4 (111) - Dorin Dickenson, TE, Pittsburgh Round 4 (126) - Myron Rolle, SS, Florida St Round 5 (133) - Brandon Lane, DE, Troy Round 5 (139) - Roddrick Muckelroy, OLB, Texas Round 5 (148) - Pat Angerer, MLB, Iowa Round 5 (152) Deji Karim, RB, Southern Illinois Round 6 (179) Ted Larsen, C, North Carolina State Round 6 (190) J’Marcus Webb, OT, West Texas A&M Round 7 (204) Via Miami
Alot of you guys had some really nice drafts. Always one player in ther eI liked and was going After.
I wondered if anyone would pick J'Marcus Webb. IIRC former soccer and rugby player that has nice feet but work ethic issues.
Not sure of your needs but I like most all your players. I like Clausen more than most, and while he may not have a high "ceiling" I think he is the most pro ready. I love Bowman and Matthews. I think Price has talent but will take time. Jerry can be a dominant G IMO, but don't really like him as a tackle. I don't care for the Jackson pick, but that's mostly because I don't think FBs should go that high. I like Graham, don't care for Edwards, but really like Williams and think he can go higher in the real draft. I like McFadden's chances of going higher in the real draft too. Know absolutely nothing about Rose so I really can't comment.
IMO, those three picks are excellent. Each of those guys are probably a round later than they should go in the real draft. Bowman is a real solid pick too. Clausen is a boom or bust guy. You're probably going to get mixed reviews on that one, because this league will be over before he gets the chance to prove himself. I like the Williams pick too.
I think he could be a solid pro if he gets it together. Has the ability to play LT but needs work. I like his versatility. And love my depth of my Oline. I also like pulling the trigger on these smaller school guys late.
great pick in rolle and cant believe you picked him RIGHT BEFORE ME angerer, another good pick. i thought he was already picked and had to triple check to make sure.
1. Sean Weatherspoon, OLB, Mizzou 3. Dennis Pitta, TE, BYU 4. Jerome Murphy, CB, USF 5. Ed Wang, OT, VT 6. Lonyae Miller, RB, Fresno State With only 5 picks to work with, I am extremely happy to come out with the players and talent that I did.
I am finished. Here is my draft: Round 1(10): Earl Thomas FS, Texas ($650,000) Round 1(20): Kyle Wilson CB, Boise St. ($600,000) Round 3(75): Jonathan Dwyer RB, Georgia Tech ($450,000) Round 3(92): Phillip Dillard LB, Nebraska ($450,000) Round 4 (107): Carlton Mitchell WR, USF ($300,000) Round 4(122): Marshall Newhouse OL, TCU ($300,000) Round 5(135): John Skelton QB, Fordham($300,000) Round 7(198): Lindsey Witten DE, UCONN ($300,000)
I was a bit surprised he was there. He has alot of ability. Angerer has some durability issues but he can flat out play when healthy.
Coming from the guy who had like 12 picks in the first 96 picks of the draft last year Wilson and Dillard fantastic picks.
