    Is he?

Keep in mind that South Beach has ruined a lot of players you never heard get ruined. Hell, Holmes and his checkered past already has an arrest on South Beach. And he grew up about an hour north of Davie. It's not always good playing at home.

The Dolphins have to be more careful than most teams thanks to the area's night life. Even Sergio Kindle's HS coach says he's terrified of him ending up in Miami.

Look around the league. Nobody has made as many moves as the Jets. What have Buffalo and New England done?

I think fans and the media are upset that the Jets are being aggressive and bringing guys in and maybe not actually analyzing those players.

Would you have traded for Cromartie?
    Would you have signed Tomlinson?

    I wouldn't.

Hell, it turns out the Jets were the only team interested in Holmes. Why do you think that is?

Imagine if we'd have made this deal for a minute.

"Today the Dolphins found their #1 WR. He won't play the first four games due to suspension, has a decent rap sheet and finds himself in trouble often. And now we will give him a bunch of money, or head into next offseason in the same situation, looking for a #1 WR."

Ask yourself how many times have the Steelers let go of a guy and it be the wrong decision?

Plaxico Burress helped NYG win a title, but where is he now? Meanwhile, Pittsburgh has won two titles without him.

Finally ventured away from the Nation, eh? Good for you. Have you started saving for your new #99 jersey yet?

You're right about your offensive cordinator, the fact that he wasn't canned last year speaks volumes about the incompetence of the Jets front office. Sure, they've done an admirable job of signing big name players that nobody else wants, but what about depth? What happens if any starters go down? The level of talent after your starters, drops immensely.

Mine is a 2 part question: Do the Jets have any fear for the consequences of bringing in a bunch of players with big personalities and a penchant for off the field incidents? Any fear of Holmes and Edwards butting heads throughout the year (after Holmes' suspension is up)?

Also, with all of the hype surrounding the Jets this year and the extra exposure coming from "Hard Knocks", do you fear the team imploding after they open the season with a losing record? IMO, with all of the high expectations, you should really pray for a fast start, otherwise the locker room could quickly turn into a soap opera.

Go study his collegiate career, and YOU do your studies before calling me out!!!!!
I know very well he was a rookie....you traded away the little bit of draft picks you had left last year to move up and get him.

  4. LOL!! So your saying he is going to fail this year? Just like Holmes? And how is your 4 year plan going for you? Will it turn into a 5 year plan after this season?

What injuries did Greene have in college?

I'm not predicting Greene will fail, I am just saying he has an injury history and is going to be asked to carry much more than he has ever.
If indeed he gets injured, what then?
That actually includes your entire team. There is zero depth anywhere but WR. Injuries do happen in the NFL.

  8. College career
Greene attended the University of Iowa, but missed the entire 2007 season while he worked at a furniture store to pay for his tuition at Kirkwood Community College, where he worked to raise his grade point average in order to transfer back to Iowa.[2]. Shonn won the 2008 Doak Walker Award, becoming the first Iowa player to win the honor and the first player to win it despite not being on the team the previous season. After the Hawkeyes won the 2009 Outback Bowl on January 1, 2009, Greene announced he would enter the 2009 NFL Draft. Greene was the only player that year to rush for over 100 yards in every game.

Where were his injuries? He took a year off in 2007 to raise his grades.

Our 4 or 5 year plan is going just fine.

The talent difference of the Jets vs the Dolphins 3 years ago was huge ( Our 1 -16 season).

The Dolphins really were the worst team in the league. We are building though the draft and not FA. It's a much more sustainable, yet slower method of upping and retaining the talent level of the franchise.

The Dolphins have to get the Oline in place ( like the Jets currently have, Phins are close ) we have to get our defense in place ( we have a ways to go and we are young on top of it ). So bringing in a large number of FA long terms isn't going to help us.

The Jets got close last year so they are doing whatever it takes to try and get to the superbowl. That is fine, but just like leverage in the financial world, it magnifies your upside, but it also magnifies the down side. The Jets traded away a pick for a guy that, if he doesn't perform, will play all of 12 games for them, if it's true he is a FA next year. I think Holmes will perform, but the risk is still there.

I don't want to be a Jet's hater. While I have no love for them mind you, I do like the head coach in terms of his defensive scheme. So best of luck to you when you play in the preseason, and the worst of luck during the regular season ( although I would like you to beat the Pats at least once and maybe do a intentional late hit on Brady and Bellchick... I am kidding... mostly )

Thanks Lucky. I couldn't find it from my phone, but I KNEW there was signifigant injury record.
Teruth is, aside from Mangold and Revis, Greene is by far one of the better Jest draft picks. I'm just suggesting once again, he isn't Thomas Jones in regards to durability. We will see what happens.

Don't sweat it. I have over 1300 posts at JetNation and have been posting there for nearly 3 years and I still get called a troll. Hell, CJ (Jupiterfin), has been posting there longer and he gets it worse than me.

Lol, its a good thing that "BLeedingGreen" guy called you out. You made that post in confidence as if you are a guru that knows it all and he is the one who is clueless. We now know your game and notice once he corrected you, you start attacking him calling him a troll or mosquito yet he never once attacked you.

He got hurt again in the AFC Championship game BTW, looked like a rib or abdominal injury. I give him credit for his success, but as Marion Barber found out, its alot easier to run hard when youre a backup than when youre a starter. Its already been posted that they have no one behind Greene who can carry the load, so hopefully (for Jets fans) Green will stay healthy.
