WHY are they starting the draft on Thursday night?? From the schedule (7:30 - 11 ET) it looks like round 1 only on Thusday night?

That's very inconvenient. What are they going to do for the remainder of the draft?

1st round is Thursday night, 2nd round is Friday night and 10:00 am Saturday is the 3-7 rounds...

I'm not crazy about the setup either, but it is what it is...

In Round 1, teams have 10 minutes to make their choice so with that in mind we should pick about 2 hours or a little less into it depending on how long the other teams take making there picks.

Or if trades happen to. But from a Dolphins stand point, we need more first 2 day draft picks, that's where most talent is. I don't know how the front office will get it done but I believe they will!

I agree I hope that we could trade down in the first back enough to get a 2nd round pick(unless Berry falls, then I would put the pick in within seconds). This draft has plenty of talent so we should pull the Patriots game from last year and keep trading back to pick up a few picks. I believe the front office will have some tricks up their sleeves to pick up more picks.

    To some an inconvenience..........(fans)

But I think that all the Organizations should favor the format...

Having a day in between these Rds give added valuable time for thought on directions to take after seeing the moves made and what truly is available. And not pressured into hasty decisions.

Also gives added time for serious wheelings and dealings and IMO makes for a more creative and exciting Draft......

Each team will have hours now to mess with each other......

What it ruins is the weekend draft BBQ parties. And that's a shame. Ruined fan experience for ratings.

The beautiful things about this.....the NFL Network is also doing the draft live so you don't have to listen to Chris Berman singing the Hotel California while Uncle Tom Jackson chuckles at his stupid nicknames and "witty" comments. But YES it should go back to Saturday and Sundays only and preferably during the day.

For the past few years we've hosted a draft party. We'd get a keg, grill out burgers and chicken... have print outs of all the player rankings and position rankings... we had a war-room dry erase board... man, we did it up.

With the first round on a 'school night'... that party is now gone. Thanks, Goodell. I agree with a great deal of what he's done as commissioner, but having the first round of the draft on a Thursday night is by far the most bone-headed decision he and his staff have made.

I'm sure a lot of people feel the same as I do.

    Boooooo... boooooo... booooooooooooooooo...

So it's scheduled to start at 6:30 central, but do you guys think it will start right then? I have a flag football game at 7:15 central I'm wondering how much I'm gonna have to miss.

If there's a nickle to be made, the NFL's going to grab it I guess; convenience of fans be damned.
