..that at some point today, before we pick at 12, we're going to move down in the first somewhere into the mid-20's. It'll be a package deal including Ronnie, which will bump us back into the 2nd as well. Don't know why, but just woke up with that gut feeling. I'd be conflicted if something like that happened. My man-crush for Ronnie still exists, and I'd hate to see him moved, but I just don't see us signing him after this year and I imagine our FO would want to get something for him.
i think the FO is going to try as reasonably to get the 2nd back today but wont do anything too drastic. might be ronnies last day as a fin. damn i might have to permanently shelf 2 jerseys this week.
I think (hope) trading down is a reasonable possibility tonight. But, and at the same time, I don't think Ronnie's going anywhere. And, that's just my gut feeling. But, if we do deal Ronnie, we better get excellent value for him. High second rounder at the very least. JMHO...
I'm with you on that one...It's hard to quantify Ronnie's talent because his numbers don't always jump off the page, but he's definitely special. It would kill me if they moved him, but if they got something amazing back in terms of picks or whatever, I'd understand.
I can't imagine moving Ronnie and not having a shot at Spiller (which wouldn't be a move down). That would be the only reason I'd see to move him.
I could be wrong on this, but I don't know whether or not they can trade him because of the injury. There is no way he passes a physical right now ?? I have seen many times that a trade didn't go down because the guy couldn't pass a physical...Also, the reason why Darren Sharper isn't signed yet ?? In my dream scenario though, I see us trading Ronnie for a 3rd this draft and a 2nd next draft...but that's Madden-esque, I know...
IMO, it would be Ryan Matthews, not Spiller after a move down...I don't think they are too enamored with Spiller...not enough of a between the tackles runner...
makes sense w/ the depth of the current draft, the need of the franchise to find starters or @ least immediate contributors to be able to compete in 2010 & the fact that Parcells likes to double down on positions of need in a draft
Another good point...I guess a trade could happen if the other team agrees that the player doesn't have to pass a physical, but I've never heard of a team agreeing to something like that. It would be crazy.
I am definitely recording the draft and not watching it live. Because if we trade out of the first round into the 2nd then we don't pick until Friday. The draft is made for Tivo. Watch the parts that interest you and skip all the crap that doesn't.
Dallas has Martellus Bennett and Marion Barber on the block plus number 27 pick could be a potential target for a trade down
what if we pulled off something like 12 and Ronnie for Eric berry and 3rd rounder? Sent from my Eris using Tapatalk
Well we are one of the more intriguing teams in a position to move out of our first round pick. If someone is willing to overpay to get someone they want at the 12th pick, i say pull the trigger.
I agree 100%. No way he gets packaged and we move down. What I'm guessing is Ronnie for detroits 2nd AND Philly trades us thier first and 2nd this year and a first next year. Although with this year being so deep in talent a first, and both seconds with something next year? Maybe... But I would love it if Miami found a way to load up on picks this year.
This is the ONLY way to watch the draft. Already have Tivo set up to record all 3 days. Love not watching commercials, too. Best part? Replaying over and over when the Jests piss off their fans with a stupid pick like Vewrnon Golston. I enjoy watching that over and over, like Janet Jacksons tit on SB halftime show a few years ago, Tivo say still today that was the most rerun item ever on Tivo. We slow mo'd the replay and she definitely had a pasty on.
