I don't care how many rings Henne gets. He's going to have to play a LOT better to bump out Marino. Am I hoping he does? Well hell of course. But thats a very lofty statement from his current body of work to say he'll be the best quarterback we've ever had.

That being said, he's already the 2nd best QB in the last 10 years... so, he's got that going for him...

Stat wise he has a very long road ahead of him. If Marino is helping coach him maybe he can give Henne advice on when and where to get rid of the ball before it becomes a negative play. IMO Henne had problems with killing a bad play at times.

Indeed. Griese had two rings and he's nowhere near as great as Dan-the-Man-with-The-Plan Marino. Henne's got his work cut out for him; because he's going to have to do things no one in Miami has ever seen before.

OT: "When in doubt, let it fly" might be some of the worst advice I've ever heard (especially out of a HOF QB)

I would rather Chad win a few superbowls and be half the man that Dan was. I don`t care about the individual stats, I just want to see Miami playing for it all, Oh but he does need to be better than Mark Sanchez

Let him win at least one championship first. That would be awesome and give us something to debate. Now if he wins 3 or 4, that would start a hell of a debate.

I was thinking the same thing when I heard it. IMO Marino would make the worst QB coach in the league. Did you notice that Marino's advice was the exact opposite of Sparano's?

I do like that Henne is embracing the team's history, but I hope (and believe) he's smart enough to realize whose advice he should be following.

I do think that it's possible that Henne may achieve more team success than Marino did. There are many elements of the team that seem to be coming together and he seems to have the skill set to help maximize those elements. Of course winning it all will take some luck, so we'll see if it works out.

I also think it's possible that Henne could break some of Dan's statistical records only b/c it's more of a passing league now than in Dan's day. I don't think it's likely however b/c I don't expect the offense to ever pass as much over the course of a season as Dan's teams did.

And despite all of the above, I don't know that Henne would be considered the best Dolphin QBeven if he did accomplish those things.

Kid's gotta helluva gun...I sure as hell hope so.

That said, Marino was magical. I mean it's only fitting that he threw 420 touchdowns...

I don't know if anyone will ever be a better QB the Dan was for the Phins, and I will never blame Dan for the team not winning a SB. He never had the running backs and defense that guys like Montana and Elway had. But hopefully Henne can have a long career and the Phins can win a ring. It would be nice to win one soon while the guys from the 1970s teams are still around.

As much as I like Henne, I'm gonna go out on a pretty huge limb and say he'll never be in the same ballpark as Marino. You're talking about a guy who shattered every passing statistic in an era of the NFL that favored running teams.

I do agree that Henne may be in a better position if only because this is now a passing league and he certainly has the tools to succeed.

I wish Henne the best... I think we're all hoping to be in the Super Bowl this year...
But trying to compare Henne at this point to Marino is premature at best and almost blasphemy.
Season can't start soon enough so this drivel quits coming out.

Pshawww, nobody is ever likely to throw the ball for us that comes even close to Dan the Man. However, Henne is being given the tools to possibly win a ring or two, and that will be enough for me!
