Because of the fact that our criminal justice system is geared entirely toward apprehension and punishment and not recognition and prevention, this guy has a long career ahead of him...possibly as a deviant serial killer.
I'm curious what makes you believe it's possible he'll become a serial killer? I recognize he's got an odd sexual fetish/fantasy and a lot / if not all SK's start killing because their fantasy is no longer able to satisfy their urges, but beyond that we just know this guy has an odd fetish. He's due to take an exam. I'm not debating the criminal justice system is completely ****ed, nor that it doesn't teach a criminal more tricks once they get in, but just wanting to discuss with you.
It's a matter of crossing lines; this guy has already crossed the line of breaking and entering to commit a deviant act, so that's no big deal to him anymore. The nature of his deviancy suggests that it has already progressed to a point that it is extreme, which means that he's now accustomed to progression in his deviancy, so further progression is not going to be scary for him, only exciting.
I think it could still go either way at this point, tbh. Not saying you're wrong, but I'd have to know a little more about this guy's history. Making the jump from stealing dirty diapers to serial murder is no small feat. It could just be a perverse sexual fetish and not develop much past that. Time will tell, I guess.
Ahh. I f--kin hate those commercials. The first one wasnt funny, the last 30 were just plain un-original. How long are they gonna milk that?
