Yeah yeah...I know this was discussed in the E3 thread but I think this baby deserves one of it's own. I have been waiting for Nintendo to throw out something like this. I was very skeptical but I am no more. This looks to be the handheld I have been waiting for. Here we have actual screens form the new 3DS. I am officially hyped!!!! http://www.explicitgamer.com/article/nintendo-3ds-the-complete-games-list
Upon further reflection and a good look at the list of games that are either confirmed to be on the way or are likely to be released at some point, they really should have called this the N64-2.
That's cool by me. Just nice to see a handheld that is supposedly to have the same battery life as the DS and have graphics comparable to the GC. Metroid Prime on a handheld anyone? I am loving this!!!
the 3ds is going the be the most third party supported nintendo console ever. Seriously, this system has a Resident Evil, a Metal Gear Solid, and a Street Fighter in the works. Combine that with Kid Icarus and the 2 very exciting 64 remakes, this easily the most excited I've ever been for a handheld.
Nintendo hasn't commented on battery life because they're still working on it. Right now it's not in the same neighborhood as the DS. Already happened. Metroid Prime: Hunters.
If the battery life is anywhere in the same ballpark, I will be happy. Hunters sucked. It shouldn't have been called Metroid at all since the creature was not even in the game. It should been called Samus Bounty Adventures or some crap. I hated the controls as well. I couldn't play it long enough to get anywhere because my wrist was screaming after 10 minutes of play.
Right now it's not. I predict Nintendo will make the final unit slightly thicker to accommodate a bigger battery. Regardless, it's what you wanted. Be careful what you wish for.
A Metroid game with Metroids and the touch screen used for switching items and maps is really what I want.
Hell yeah! I have been anticipating this for a long time now, and after seeing the E3 trailer, I'm 100% positive that this is going to be epic.
The irony here is that some Metroid fans think this is the action-ization of the franchise and are afraid that, due to Team Ninja's involvement, Other M will consist of Samus having the Dead or Alive breast jiggle while running around as if in a Ninja Gaiden game while fumbling through a horrendous story with bad dialog and whiny introspection. Of course, these are people who think that the original Metroid was the best game in the series, so...
Right. But the point is that apparently some people will violently overreact to anything that tries to present Samus as a character rather than an avatar, and any situation in a Metroid game that involves contact with other human beings, because the "point" of the game in their view is complete and total isolation. It's pretty sad.
I see your point Desides. I have no problem with the interaction with other humans as long as the game doesn't detour from what the game is really about. It's all about the Metroids hence the title. It doesn't hurt to learn something about a character you have been playing as for over 20 years.
Agreed. But they're afraid of bad dialog, too many cutscenes, and basically they'd prefer Samus to be an avatar rather than a character. IMO, it's baseless fear. The Other M development team has likened Other M to Metroid Fusion in the sense that there's a clear progression and some semblance of a plot, but you can still mess around.

I plan on getting this right when it comes out,I can't remember looking forward to a handheld console as much as this one. Strong list of games for the 3DS also. Which ones are you all most looking forward to?
