"I think what we’ve got here is a player of some value though: to the Canadian Football League. Think about it…makes some sense! He can be exciting to watch and had lots of runs from scrimmage in College. And the field is extra-wide in the CFL. And the pursuit and defenses are not as quick and hard-hitting there. He could be a Canadian hero!

I like Pat White a lot and love his attitude and will to win. If he doesn't make it with the Dolphins or with another team in the NFL, then I'd be thrilled for him to do well in the CFL and it'd probably influence me to pay more attention to the CFL as a whole.

I wasn't a fan of the pick for this team and I still dislike it, but I was a big fan of Pat White the college football player.

Looks like he'll be another Flutie.

May be the best thing for us to do is ship him off to a good CFL franchise with some agreement that we get him back after 2-3 years. If he turns into another Flutie, we're far better off. I believe HOFer Warren Moon spent his first few seasons in the CFL, but that was due to no NFL teams thought a black man could be a QB in this league back in those days. I loved how Warren made most of them pay for their racist beliefs.

I tried to get on board with the Pat White pick, thinking he would take the WildCat to the next level, I am no longer a believer. I do like the kid as a person though and hope he succeeds, either here or in the CFL.

let him compete during the preseason on equal basis w/ thigpen
he could surprise, if given a reasonable opportunity to play ball

My goodness, this is kinda a dumb thread.

There exists no agreement between the CFL and NFL that would allow for farming out Pat White

If White was to go anywhere it would be to the UFL.

White looked as good as Thigpen in the Saturday Scrimmage

There is another scrimmage tonight as well as a preseason game this Saturday, one in which White and Thiggy will play most of the game, if the writer wasn't biased against White he would have held his powder until at least next Sunday when all is said and done.

While Pat White could do extremely well in the CFL , as noted by Padre , Miami can't send him to their aaa farm team.

He would have to be cut , clear waivers and that isn't likely to happen , at least now.

Let's see how things unfold, be to his advantage if he can offer some production at some different positions ( special teams? ) .

i really think its too early yet to judge pat white. let's see him in a couple of preseason games first. if he comes through in live preseason games i would keep him for another year and see how he does out of the wildcat or pistol for us this year. the main thing with him is he has to relax, let the game slow down for him and hit some passes with consistency. if he does that he will be a valuable weapon in the wildcat or pistol formations. if he cant do that i dont really see a place for him

ps. wonder if they would consider lining him up as a RB in some formations?

Baseball is a much more likely destination. However, I am sure he would be picked up by another NFL franchise if released.
