That he did. Ted Ginn also had a huge TD in that game. I like Cam. Plays with a lot of heart. But I promise you they'll replace his production.
ProFootballTalk It's believed that the Vikings are sending a cornerback to Miami for Camarillo, possibly Benny Sapp.
this is good for CAM, and good for us .... we said both last year and this year that CAM was the likely trade target given our slate of WRs ... since you're splitting hairs with CAM, Hartline and Bess ... now you can really look at Pruitt, Moore and Wallace - and have a spot for one of them, since we seem to be inclined to keep Turner around with the 5th spot to develop under Marshall. then again, maybe it opens up a spot to keep an extra TE (Haynos), DL (Baker/Dotson), or LB (McCoy) .... that all seem on the outside right now today ... it also opens up the possibility of picking up that OLB or S veteran that we still probably need to make a serious playoff run this year ...
Another corner? Not sure how I feel about that. Seems like we would trade one crowded position for another.
True I do like the upside of our young receivers. We'll probably get more explosive plays. What can I say..I'm a Cam fan...the man was solid.
I hope so because Cam was a pretty decent WR and trading him for a mid to late round wing and a prayer is crap. Unless we got a early pick (3rd) or some FS help...maybe even a ST commodity, I dont like it.
Not a fan of the trade, but hopefully we get the right compensation for it. I'd rather have a guy that catches everything on my roster instead of someone with 4.4 speed and upside with questionable hands but thats just me.
I know losing him won't kill us, and I've always known his days were numbered as we brought in more receivers, but damn! You could put him in the freakin' ring for that one catch! I wish him the best of luck and I'm happy that he is going somewhere he'll have a chance to win a championship.
Te will be Fasano, Martin and Haynos. What this trade means to me is..Will Allen's knee is not 100% yet, and likely not to be anytime soon so we needed Cb depth after Carroll was toasted by the Jags and Hobbs is not really an option. Sapp maybe is the new nickelback?
He'll always hold a special place in Dolphins history. Hey, at least this isn't as bad as when we traded Welker.
So is Sapp any good? Stats suggest he's a career b/u, nickle kind of guy. I suppose they want depth in case Will Allen can't go the whole year? 40 tackles last year, a career high, for what it's worth. Probably not a bad p/u, I guess. It is a passing league, and depth at CB can never be bad.
If you told me a Dolphin wideout was going to be traded and nothing else, I would've guessed Patrick Turner to his old college coach now in Seattle. You're a classy guy and Good Luck to ya' Cam!
Started 7 games in the nickle formation last year for the Vikings I think this means Will Allen may see the pup list or IR
Damn, Wikipedia is fast. Benjamin Lee Sapp, II (born January 20, 1981 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) is an American football cornerback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. He was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2004. He played college football at Northern Iowa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benny_Sapp
guess we'll see about the CB reports ... but agree that Smith needs to watch out .... i do believe Carroll will take his job away next year .... folks tend to show Smith way too much love ..... we also may need to move Allen to S .... depending upon how things go .... i still very much believe in Clemons ... but he is very inexperienced, and he won't be given a free pass like Davis and Smith got last year - since we want to win this year .... we continue to build depth
ProFootballTalk Agent Andy Simms confirms on Twitter that Vikings CB Benny Sapp is being sent to the Dolphins.
I doubt it. Camarillo likely will compete with Greg Lewis for third spot on the depth chart in Minnesota.
