There was a question like this posed on another message board (I won't name it...lol) asking if anyone had any ideas for a nickname for the dominant Miami Dolphins defense. We've had the "No-Name Defense" and "Killer-B's Defense" of the past, and this one is beginning to look like it just might deserve that status as well. While the defenses with Jayson Taylor and Zach Thomas were sometimes great, I'm not sure they ever merited a nickname, and I don't think they ever got one. So, what do you guys think? Should this defense get a nickname, and if so, what one? My suggestion is "KC's and the Sunshine Band" K stands for Karlos Dansby, Kendal Langford, and Koa Misi, and C stands for Cameron Wake, Channing Crowder, and Chris Clemons. In my view it's a great nickname that incorporates some of the best players on defense for Miami, and the Sunshine Band is perfect considering Florida is the Sunshine State.
We would be the laughing stock of the nfl with that nickname. Its a good topic though. not sure yet what a good one would be
Ya not a fan of that name, plus Crowder hasn't even played yet. Let's see how this defense continues to do as the season progresses, we still have some very tough games ahead of us. In fact I would say the teams we are playing in the next few weeks are still even tougher than the Vikings.
Not just no, but hell no. Not only is that one of the worst nicknames ever, but the rule of nicknames is that you shouldn’t have to explain where it comes from. It should be obvious. Besides, I don’t trust a forum that’s misused the word trifecta for three years to come up with a nickname for a team defense.
what are we? a Dr Suess rhyme? Its ok. I keep thinking if the ORCA 5 is our oline maybe our defense should be the piranhas but it sounds a bit corny to me
Well, for me, I like "The Mad Dog Defense". In honour of long time announcer Jim Mandich. MDD as the abreviation.
It's a cheap cop-out since some NCAA teams use it, but the Wolfpack is really all I can come up with.
Understood I'm not sure we'd be the laughing stock of the NFL with the nickname, but I get your point...lol I'll agree with another poster, though, that it's probably not a good one simply because it has to be explained. No great nickname should really have to be explained. That being said, I'm sure the "Killer-B's Defense" had to be explained at first...;-)
Another Suggestion Another suggestion I'd thought of was, "The Coast Guard". I've read some of the replies and suggestions, and I have to say that a nickname for Miami's defense should tie in, even slightly, with the theme of the team's name, the Dolphins. It should tie in somehow with "Water" or "the Sea" or "The Coast", or at least with Florida and the "Sunshine State" or native creatures around South Florida and Miami. Just my opinion...lol
if madison, zach, bowens, gardner, taylor, marion, surtain, armstrong never got a nickname......no way in ****ing hell should this defense after 2 games (1 against buffalo) get a nickname. Lets get ready for NY.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIrcjgj1rRE I love the wolf hand sign lol! AHHHWOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Don't turn your back on the wolfpack, you might wind up in a body bag. lmAO p.s. the rap song sucks.
lol... I know you hate this sh$# Prez, but bro, their freakin doin it, not us, and, their starting to believe that each one has an inner wolf that needs to be a part of a pack to be complete...........lol...gotcha..j/k, anyway's, How do you not think its cool that our guy's howl like a pack of wolves after a good play, or in victory...I love it man..These players have no way of connecting to their fans at their stadium, this could help if done right. wait, didnt in another thread you agree to let out a lil one if we beat the Vike's ? I think its cool...and if I make the game iam gonna get as many people as possible to do it...hopefully our exec's are on the same page...it could be financially positive. win win for being a lil loco..
PBP did.... http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports...dolphins-try-new-name-defense-and-914005.html Commentary: Miami Dolphins try 'New-Name Defense,' and so far it's working
I mean I heard somebody come up with it a few days ago, so if this was their first time saying it, then we have a spy among us.
