I talked to Papa Pump. He already knew about it, and he's on board. He will be talking about it tomorrow night on his show.

I work in the marketing field, if i worked at the marketing deptarment of the miami dolphins i would be Howling about this opportunity to get the fans support of this movement.

This sort of movement will be so great for the franchise, way more effective than renaming the stadium, having celeb owners, or anything else their doing.

The Calgary Flames (NHL team) had a fan passion movement in 2004 when they suprised in the first round of the playoffs and wend on a deep playoff run to lose in game 7 to Tampa Bay, which took a city and nation by storm. It was called the C of Red, one party street became (and is still known as) the red mile.

All the teams marketing efforts are still being used today based on the C of Red and the fans still support it. The long term effect of this movement could span far beyond our home opener this year. Any team who comes to Calgary, get ready to play in the C of Red. It's loud, passionate and aggressive. Our players feed off it. Opposing players comment on it in post game interviews.

Kudos to everyone on here for igniting the Dolphans across the nation, we all know this fan base needed a platform to show their pride with, and they finally found it. I'm certain no matter how much or little the dolphins franchise or media supports in early on, if you keep driving it it will catch on and have a lasting impression.

I can certainly imagine it will send goosebumps to all our players when the stadium errupts on Sunday night. The Jets don't know what they are in for.

can someone forward this post to their contacts powers that be..

so true, and what people in the front office haven't grasped yet, is that this could have an economical impact as well as performance impact.

The money the Calgary Flames made of the C of Red is in the multiple millions. There is a 5-10 year wait list for season tickets since that run. Still today. Companies buy season tickets just so they don't lose out for successive years.

This was a fan base that was dying before hand. Literally. The team had trouble getting half capacity, few season ticket holders, few sponsors, no one dressed up or showed passion at games. The marketing team took the movement, supported it, ran with it. And that intial investment ignited a fan base and now is one of the most profitable NHL franchises.

The red jerseys they sold that year out matched jersey sales from the past 8 years combined. They couldn't make them fast enough. Car flags went up, those too couldn't be made quick enough.

There were fans i know of persaonally, who like the rival teams ( who bought a red jersey and wanted to go to flames games just to see what being at the C of red was like as an experience.

Can you fathom that. A Jets or Pats fan buying a Orange jersey to come experience the Howl that takes place at Sun Life. That's what happened in Calgary.

Some C of Red Moments (sorry some of the songs suck)

Keep it going Dolphans, run with this and it will be awesome! I can't wait to see it on TV.

It completely BLOWS me away that when constructing a stadium, that what were talking about here, is not in the blueprint....it is a grave economical error in judgement on behalf of the suits..

It is why I believe that if someone had the guts and funds to build a replica of the orange bowl, call it the OB2, design it for the cane's and phins, and market the fu%$ out of it, that it is the first stadium, completely constructed, and archetectually designed, to become thee most hostile environment in this league, that the residual funds that would come from it, would pay for itself..

Jerry Jones fu$#ed his football team worse than he will ever know...

It's an investment for sure. Before those video's the flames between 2000-2003 would draw perhaps 5-6 thousand fans per game.

19,821 is the capacity. Completely sold out every single game since 2004. It's actually a pride among flames fans. That they are the best crowd in the NHL.

The franchise is in the works to build a new stadium, and from what i've learned so far, the new stadium design will fully encorporate the C of red. They actually want to build the new site, if at all possible, so the party street where the movement started, runs right into the entrance of the new stadium.

now that is progressive thinking...they shall reap the benefits...

Why iam so crazy for this howl is because I believe we cannot connect with our players, solely because the construction does not allow us to.

The howl is a band aid.

Don't worry about that, the Saddledome is the worst accoustics ever. If the fans who attend Sun Life, sell out the stadium and bring their energy, it will have an impact.

I actually hate going to concerts at the saddledome because the noise sucks so bad in there. But when the C of Red is going, you get a headache it gets so loud in there.

Also, if it catches on, eventually the team and people who profit from the Dolphin franchise will take notice, and it will impact their forward decisions.

And DJ, the way you know you connected with the team is in interviews. From our players and opposing players. When you hear it mentioned in almost every post game interview, you know the players notice it even if the stadium is not structurally designed to amplify it. They will simply be comparing it to the last time they played at Sun Life when it wasn't nearly as loud or energized.

As it is being passed to various departments and media outlets, this thread should be sent with it.

It will show the passion and effort on the front lines.

I really hope this reaches Dan on the CBS sunday morning pre game show when he picks the Phins over the Jets.

Can you all imagine if Dan Marino gave out a howl!

Howling is more aimed at pumping up our defense than disrupting the opposing teams offense. Although, if you think about it, indirectly our pumped up D will disrupt the opposing teams offense. I don't see the logic in saying howling is not as loud as screaming(a wolf's howl can travel more than a mile).

And whats more intimidating, a crowd of people yelling and screaming(unorganized). Or a crowd of people in a concerted effort Howling at the top of their longs(organized. I will take the later. If most of the crowd howls sunday night, it will send goosebumps down my back.

A wolves vocal cords are not the same as a humans. Thats why our instinct when we want to be loud and scary, or to summon help, is shouting and screaming. I mean, how scary are these guys really?

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy_oSfwYkeY"]YouTube - Full Moon Flash Mob - Toronto[/ame]

You guys should do what you want though. From a Fan organizational stand point I think its cool. You guys have this grass roots thing you are doing and I hope it works out. It's great to the the Dolphin fan community coming together.
