From Rex Ryan's press conference, he has stated that both Calvin Pace and Darrelle Revis will not play on Sunday. Revis will not fly to Miami.
Really? Calvin Pace too. I read that Mangold spent his day riding the exercise bike. We'll have to keep an eye on him as well.
good. now lets make sure we mop the floor with them. they will make excuses if they lose. but i dont care. a win is a win. regardless of who was playing.
Nobody was crying for us last year when we had all of our injuries. Play with what you've got. No excuses.
I read from some guy on twitter, that Revis is supposed to be out 3 to 5 weeks. Don't know if that's real information or not, but it's starting to look like good info.
There's always gonna be an excuse with them. "Revis is out, Pace is out, Braylon didn't start, the Jets did not have adequate space on the sidelines, the training staff ran out of towels in the 3rd quarter, someone let a wild chinchilla loose in the locker room during half time and it bit part of Mark Sanchez' pinky finger off, etc."
Cromartie's no slouch. I saw him play very well on some highlights last night. That said, bring on the 3 wide set.
Who exactly is them? The fans or the team? You play with the hand you are dealt and there won't be any excuses out of this Jets fan. They did fine without Revis in the 2nd half against Brady/Moss/Welker. There are no excuses if they can't defend Henne, Marshall and Bess.
Sounds familiar. We've heard the same thing about our rookie Odrick. Immediately they told us 5-6 weeks for a hairline fracture (sounds normal right?). shortly thereafter, they tell us 2 weeks max. Today, John Clayton reports the original 5-6 weeks again... Hope you guys get him back quick, though. It's no fun playing you guys without him.
Both. I could link you to last year's game threads and subsequent post game threads at Jetnation, but you probably have a pretty good idea of what was said (Last second TD, Ted Ginn, 100-something total yards, etc. so forth) "That's a bunch of gimmicky stuff. High School type nonsense." - Calvin Pace "I've seen all that before in college and we stopped it, so I wasn't worried about it." -Rex Ryan, referring to the Wildcat Sound familiar? (I paraphrased those quotes but I'm sure you remember them)
Here's to a big game in the slot by D.Bess!!! I would have preferred for them to have their best on the field as R.Lewis intimated...but such is life. As some of you said, lets go out and get the win regardless of who is there. Mangold out would be key in forcing them to be one dimensional me thinks.
I just registered on a few football forums the past few weeks (including this one). Up until now, I was stictly on the old school USENET forums. So I don't know what was said last year, but you are right in that I have a good idea. I have a hard time reading some of the stuff posted on all these sites and I think it has to do with the average age level of the community. Younger fans tend to talk more crap and to make statements based on emotion. I have been going to pro games for over 20 years and I try to be a very realistic and respectful fan. My 15 year old son drives me nuts with his predictions of the Jets going 13-3. Please. You will get no excuses out of me (unless the most blatent and horrific officiating call ever made costs them the game). Every team has injuries. It's part of the sport. Other than your QB, you should be able to overcome the loss of a player (assuming the rest of your team is good). The Giants won a superbowl with their backup QB!
I've had (and still have) hamstring issues. I was out for like 8 months plus. Mind you, I re-injured it a few times inside that 8 months, but to this day I don;t feel 100%. Hammys are nothing to take lightly and they are VERY limiting. So, 3-5 weeks sounds realistic with professional rehab. Even then, I don't think he will be 100% free of the sensation he feels in the hammy when running. It is always in the back of your mind when you injure it, especially with a tear.
Anyone else think that Rex is being surprisingly complimentary in his press conference? He's saying nice things about everyone, sort of unlike him.
There are plenty, just like there are plenty of decent Miami fans. You can't go by the yahoos that show up in an internet forum and talk trash. Or ones that are loaded in a sports bar. Or the ones that show up to your stadium wearing the opposing jersey and acting like douchebags. My rule of thumb is that the younger the fan, the greater chance you have at douchebaggery (my made up word of the day). And thanks for the welcome
Well according to many of your brethren, the Vikings are a shell of a team.....not saying you said this....but thats whats being voiced by many Jets fans....
There are a few out there. JoeWilly from JN (also posted here some during Jets weeks last year) is one of my favorite posters, not just out of Jets fans, but any poster period.
not to worry. it will be a very unpleasant experience for the jests in these waters. the Orca are hungry. the more for dinner the happier the Pod
I can't wait to play Minn. Unless they come up with another receiver, they don't scare me at all and I am dying to see them knock the snot out of Favre. I hope they make him want to retire after the game.
And I even hate this excuse, I hate when my team keeps the game so close that it has a chance to be decided by the zebras in the first place....
So Revis, Pace and Jenkins are definitely out. The jury is still out on Mangold and Taylor. And by all rationality Edwards should be out for the game Sunday. Am I missing anyone?
There are a few. The lifelong Jets fan that works with me is very reasonable. I actually feel guilty talking too much trash with the guy. That being said, the idiots over at GangGreen have about as much actual debating ability as my left nut (my right nut is much better than them). Every other word is F**K out of their mouths.
They kinda are though, no Rice, a secondary that isnt that great, and Harvin who is never playing....they have Schancoe and AP....this years team isnt last's years team....even Favre so far.....not good...
I know. Apparently if you're a Jet getting pulled over for DUI and spending the night in jail is okay. Gotta love Roger Goodell
I don't care what anyone says, man. The Vikings had a chance to win that game. They gave the ball to AP 4 times in the red zone and we stopped him every single time. Show me how many teams have stopped AP on the 1 yard line. Show me, dammit.
