http://pewforum.org/Other-Beliefs-and-Practices/U-S-Religious-Knowledge-Survey.aspx I think it is very interesting that Atheists and Agnostics were the 2nd most knowledgeable. I scored 13/15 for 87%. Here's the link to take the quiz. Link
Interesting article. I tried to take the test but the link would not work. Since Americans generally are horrible at history and geography and so much religious information has an historical or geographic slant, it is not surprising to me that generally we are bad at it.
Well, there's an answer for that and it's been clear for at least 3 years now. I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uhmmm, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and uh, I believe that our, I, education like such as uh, South Africa, and uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uhhh, our education over here in the US should help the US, uh, should help South Africa, it should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for us.
Well that and my theory (supported by terrible book sales overall) is people are losing the habit of enjoying reading and the US is becoming much more of a visual culture because of it. It would be rather interesting to have a poll as to who read a book, or several books, over this past Summer? Hopefully, Kindle like devices can reverse that trend?
