Good point. Objectively, I'm not sold on this Nix/Gailey marriage, I think they do some odd things from a player personnel aspect. Why resign Kelsay to a 4 yr deal, in season, with a lockout looming? And the dolphins have been horrible until recently, this idea that "we should tank so we have the #1 overall pick and take a Qb!!" Is a terribly bad idea, the Draft is a crap shoot, even with the #1 overall, I'd be much happier to win some games and draft well then to have 2-14 season Still think DefCord Edwards should be running a 4-3, otherwise Maybin will be a bustini, and the other 2 Lb's are just not athletic enough, Poz is a great player, but why pair chain two good, young players to a scheme that does not fit their skillset? As for Nix, eh, to me he doesn't churn the roster enough, the Bills are in a great position on the waiver wire, he really should take more advantage of it. As for Gailey, really like what he is doing with Parrish/Johnson/Evans.
Bills always play the division tough I expect no less this week...can they close the deal is the question..bit of a "trap" game as well.
Primetime NY/Miami games have nothing to do with rest of the season realities. You should know that by now. Those offenses go wild under the spotlight. We have two times in a row now that Henne/Sanchez looked like Marino and Elway going at it. You would have had to have scored 50 in primetime to equal the 28 in the regular game.
-Bills are willing to listen to offers for Marshawn Lynch, this should motivate the underachieving Running Back. The Jets are dominating on run D -Ryan Fitzpatrick has been installed as the #1 Qb in Buffalo, the team just plays better with Fitzy at Qb. The Jets D beat Brady and Henne. Fitz would not start on any other team -Bills to add Xavier Fulton, who is a much better prospect than Cornell "Turnstill" Greene at Right Tackle Next -Bills are getting their best defensive player back, Paul Poz is back in their starting lineup And Pace will be back for the Jets, Yawn
Which is what makes it a good matchup. Browns, Carolina, etc. We'll see. Odd, earlier in the thread it was reported he was out? And Pace being back for the Jets has nothing to do with Poz being back for the Bills.. Just go to sleep for this one Jets...just go to sleep..
The Bills are the worst team in the league. You guys have absolutely no promising future. No right to talk.
I thought you were exaggerating, so I ran the numbers. You’re right, Sanchez has a career 23.3 QBR against Buffalo, mainly on the “strength” of a 5 INT game. The second time out he didn’t throw a pick against the Bills. The Bills pass defense is legitimate, but we knew that already. The other 7 guys on defense and the 11 guys on offense need to show up. Ricky is done, but the Bills apparently want more than a 4th, otherwise Green Bay would already have traded for Lynch. Besides, the Parcells philosophy is that running backs are generally fungible (which is true) so I can’t see the team giving up what they view as a valuable draft pick for a running back. Maybe if both Ronnie and Ricky went down, sure. You know who I’d love to see in a Dolphins uniform? Pierre Thomas. Will never happen, but I’d love to see it. Henne put up 7.8 YPA and a 91.3 QBR against your defense. Your defense didn’t beat him. You held firm in the red zone, but that was partially due to some mistakes on the Dolphins end, mainly red zone inefficiency.
Jet fans never learn. As soon as they begin to beat their chests...disaster usually strikes. okay..Buffalo is winning. You can just see it coming.
FMR Buck Buchanan FIS player of the year award winner, believe it or not this is a positive move for the Bills Defence as Aaron Maybin appears to be a bust who cannot make it onto the field, and when does so, never produces.
That would suck, but would not surprise me. I hope this is the "New Jets" not the SOJ. Also, Wagon Circler is highly annoying so I hope the Jets blow the Bills out. I think it'll be a hard fought game though. Fitzpatrick is such an upgrade for that whole team.
Well, I never liked this guy's game, some Bills fans swear by him but when I catch a Bills game he seems to be targeted successfully and often.
We had good reason to believe and still do. hey..I thought Cromartie was going to shut down Marshall? Wasn;t that what you said? We can play this game all day.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TplEGO60Iqc"]YouTube - 2010 WEEK 3 JETS VS DOLPHINS HIGHLIGHTz[/ame] Without Darrelle Revis. Without Calvin Pace. Without Santonio Holmes.
Without Channing Crowder. Without Will Allen. Without Jared Odrick. Without John Jerry. See, injuries cut both ways. And by the way, Revis and Pace didn’t do a whole hell of a lot for you against the Dolphins last year.
oh...but it was what YOU said. Not what I said. you were wrong about everything except that your team won. Which would mean that you were surprised by the outcome as well. and yeah...we were missing 4 starters as well...genius.
One very unfortunate side effect from the Dolphins loss is that the Jests fan don't disappear like last year...*poof* they were gone..now we gotta put up with their bull**** until they crash or we beat them.
Are you serious? Those players don't make nearly the same impact as the Jets' players do. Revis would have maintained Marshall. Holmes and Keller, which one are you doubling? And Calvin Pace, our best pass rusher. Him and JT would be great on 3rd downs.
4 starters are 4 starters no matter what team it is. so...same impact. hate to break it to you, because certain guys get really good on reputation. You are overrating your players.
You’re joking, right? Will Allen is a Pro Bowl level cornerback. At the very least, he doesn’t slip and fall to allow Braylon Edwards free reign. He also doesn’t commit the mental error that Collinsworth lambasted Jason Allen for. Will Allen’s presence alone means that game turns out very differently. Channing Crowder is a keystone of the front seven. At first glance, he doesn’t appear to be anything special, but every time he exits the lineup the defense collapses. If you need proof of this, dig up footage of Texans @ Dolphins from last year. The defense was doing pretty well until Crowder got hurt, after which the Texans just brutalized us. Crowder’s presence means Keller has a tougher time in the first half. Jared Odrick I’ll grant you, but he looked pretty good before he got hurt. His absence does have a schematic impact: Starks moves back to DE and Soliai takes over full-time at NT. That does affect the way the defense plays. John Jerry is a starting RG. McQuistan filled in pretty nicely, but Jerry is better. Any time you lose a starting offensive lineman, it’s not exactly a bonus. Give me Will Allen alone and the Dolphins likely win this game. Give me Will Allen and Channing Crowder and the Dolphins absolutely win this game. So yes, injuries affected both teams. And there’s no guarantee that either team will be full strength in December. You’ve already lost Kris Jenkins again, for example. That depends on which safety Revis would have received assistance from. A reminder, the Dolphins made halftime adjustments to shut Keller down for the rest of the game. And I like Vontae Davis covering Santonio Holmes. You realize that Jake Long shut down Jason Taylor, right? And Carey has a pretty good history against Calvin Pace.
Starters are starters dude...we wont double Holmes Davis will have him..Pace has never done squat against us and Taylor can still beat Fullbacks and get to the QB not impressed...Revis is big Ill give you that. Jerrys replacement gave up a ton of pressure and almost got Ronnie killed whiffing on Harris.. Dobbins had more miss reads than reads and Odrick is our second best DE so the rotation gets a lot weaker and worn out with his loss...looking at Both Defenses at the end of the game Stamina was a huge factor..fake injury anyone ??
The Bills can't win. They're Herminated. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxToUoZFGjY&feature=related"]YouTube - The Herminator - 2010 Bills[/ame]
Jake Long is probably the best LT in the league. I wouldn't expect any of them to beat Long at this point. If you think Pace is soft, then you do not watch any of the Jets game. Even the Tuna wanted Pace. Please, get your facts STRAIGHT! I'm a man, I'm 40.
Please, Herm can only predict loses in the future when he is the Coach of the Jets..or is that cause them...
You get your prostate exam yet? Pace is soft because he doesnt want to be a leader, He joined the Jets because in NY he wanted to "just be one of the guys". Parcells wanted him to be a leader. Plus he's overpayed and he's a subpar OLB, and thats with the roids.
That will help the Bills "D" as Andra Davis and Akin Ayodele/Reggie Torbor are not scaring anyone at ILB.
Which is why this switch to the 3-4 still is bizarre to me, why not run the 4-3, then hit Lb's in the 2011 draft and then make the switch? I do think Arthur Moats is an upgrade over Aaron Maybin at OLB. They feel Taylor is a fine replacement, if it were me I'd run Spiller to his side behind the FB.
Really? Hmm, FWIW the interior of the Bills Oline is their strength. If I were Gailey, I'd run the secondary off with go routes and run toss sweeps to the wide side of the field with Spiller and make the Jets D prove their athleticism on the edge.
