Bill is dead set to prove that one player is not bigger than the team and his concept is that the team wins the title. Before Moss 3 rings, with Moss no rings. With Tate showing his speed, they really don't need Moss. Yes...everyone needs someone with his talent. But his head and mouth isn't needed. They can still try to get Vincent Jackson or another WR this year, but I think they would still be fine without one.
Despite what happened on Monday night, the Patriots aren't legitimate SB contenders this year -- with or without Moss. So they took the opportunity to get something for an aging talent and now have plenty of options, via trade, to get younger at the position (say, Vincent Jackson). I'm not shocked by the decision at all. These aren't those Patriots. They're not in the midst of a title run.
I agree, but then why play the games, nobody knows about injuries, how things shape up as far as talent....you dont say to your fanbase ever "We arent winning the championship so ehh we give up" I thought V-Jax too, but that is going to take 2nd and a 3rd, and 30 million guarnteed.....I just dont see the Pats giving that much up
I don't agree with it, FY. Regardless of what they do at this point, they've downgraded at the WR position. They're also dealing with a window on Brady that's closing -- they're not going to have a top 5 QB forever. I don't understand why they wouldn't just let him play out his contract. That said, I'm not shocked by the decision, either.
