On the road, I might add. Does this make us elite? I thought this would be an intresting topic of discussion after all of the doom and gloom after the 2 home losses. Elite or not, we are road warriors . Edit: I am not saying we are elite, just asking for opinions...that is all.
I love that we won. I'm not trying to rain on your thread. TRUST ME, I'm happy. But we beat a VERY banged up and injured elite team. Granted, I think we would have beat them with that kind of play and they were 100%... But still, the ESPN "Gurus" will most definitely give us an asterisk for this one
they might have been banged up, but they are still a good team at home. I'd hesitate to call them elite, they make way too many mistakes.
They are not playing to their full potential, but I still think that they are a team that can go deep into the playoffs.
2nd rate bro. Second-rate. That said, the only elite teams will meet in Dallas sometime in February. Hope is nice, because you never know.
It was a great win The Packers are not an elite team If we beat the Steelers next week, than we can say we beat an elite team.
OT: I find it funny how the media spins Dolphins wins. They always bring up the question of "is XY team done/in trouble?" ...whenever a team loses to us. It's like the Dolphins are rock bottom to the pundits.
I agree with those who've said already that Green Bay is not an elite team at the moment, not with their many injuries to key players. I'm glad we won, but don't make more of it than it is. If we beat the Steelers, I will be impressed.
That I agree with, but they are not an elite team now, especially when you look at the injuries and the way they are playing now. It was a very good win. But Like I said, we want to beat an elite team, win next week.
I'm not sure if we are elite just yet...but we have what it takes to beat any team in this league. I know i'm not the only that feels like this. It is hard to categorize.
I will say it, we are not elite. The defense still lets teams back into games. Offense goes to sleep in the middle of games, we have a long ways to go. If we beat the Steelers next week, I will feel much better.
But if we do win does that automatically mean we are elite? Or does it fall under "any given sunday" ??
I have noticed though that when we beat a team they go into a deep depression and fall from elite status.
I’ll take that a step further and say the offense goes to sleep after the first drive and never really wakes up. We struggle to score touchdowns. The red zone is our kryptonite. Doesn’t help that once we get into field goal range, Henning’s playcalls change because the team is willing to settle for a field goal.
No, it means we are getting better. To me elite teams are like the past Pats teams or Colt teams that dominate week in and week out, you can add the Steelers to that also. We have a ton of work to do. I think we have a long way to go before we can use the E word. Just win baby
Elite? Fellas, we are in third place in our division, 2 games behind the division leaders, and have 3 tough games staring us right in the face. I'm simply glad the roster is returning to health before this stretch of games, 1 at home vs the Steelers, two on the road vs the Ravens and Bengals, let's work our way through that gauntlet first.
Tbh, the lack of a pass rush on their end greatly affected their ability to play defense. It is similar to watching this game right now (IND-WAS) where WAS cannot get much of a pass rush on Manning and he is subsequently picking them apart all over the field. Couple that with our ability to run and their injuries up front...Happy for the win, but we have work to do. We beat a banged up "elite" team that has given us confidence for next week. Next week, though, will be a whole lot different and I wish GB got some pass rushing in there to prepare Henne for PIT; it will be a different story, but one that I hope has us similarly coming out on top.
yes we did beat an elite team, but they were banged up. but its still not easy beating a banged up elite team in a place like green bay. as far as i know, there o-line wasn't banged up, except for their tight end. I'm very happy with all the pressure we put on Rodgers. if they were healthy, we probably wouldn't have put up 23 points on them, but they would have still put up 20 points on us. if they were healthy i would say the score would either be 13 to 20 or 16 to 20 with green bay winning.
some how i knew we would win, but i felt the same way with the jets game. for some reason i knew we would lose against the pats. but i think we'll beat the jets and the pats at their home. one thing i am confident about this year...is road games! we are undefeated road warriors! if we keep that up all year and only win half of our home games, we're playoff bound!
Well, we may be facing a situation where we pretty much have to win the Steelers or Ravens games to have an edge on the Jets.
We have played most of the season without Odrick, Jerry, W. Allen, Crowder, Ferguson, Edds etc. No one gives a care about our injuries so why should we care about theirs. It's a win against a playoff contender. Nuff said.
We beat a good team in a tough venue that was missing some elite talent. We're definitely not elite yet. Too inconsistent right now. Still have some holes. This was a good win though. If we beat Pittsburgh, I still won't be ready to call us elite. You have to prove you're consistent to be that. But it will be a damn fine accomplishment. Pitt is the best team in the league IMO. I don't care if they lose half the team to injury that day. They are excellent. It would be an accomplishment for any team to emerge from this three game stretch 2-1. We'll find out a lot about where we are and what we're made of the next few games.
If I could thank you 10 more times, I would. We beat the Vikings, its "Whats wrong with the Vikings???" Hell, they were even that way with the Bills game. WHAT THE **** DID WE DO TO GET ALL THIS SPORTS MEDIA HATE??? (I love the hate though. I just want to know why.)
I agree in principle. To be fair though, many of the guys they're missing are on a different level than the guys we've been missing. I don't mean to crap on our win. A win is a win at Lambeau. I just don't know if they're a playoff team without those guys.
Yes we beat two pre-season Super Bowl favorites on the road and had one on the ropes [Jets], but no. And honestly, I don't believe that any team in the NFL this season is elite. Whose with me? There is no dominant team. The 2009 Saints and Colts were. Their offenses destroyed opposing defenses. Saints dominated all the teams they were supposed to, including playoff teams like our rivals. 2007 Patriots were, etc. The biggest thing about the tough road victories in hostile stadiums is it gives hope that they can do it in New Jersey and Foxboro. Now win some home games too.
Well, here is the problem, if we lose to the Ravens, we lose a tie breaker edge against the Jets, if we lose to the Steelers and Ravens, we lose that much of an opportunity to gain some edges on both of those teams. As it sits, we could see one of those classic finishes were a team winds up 11-5 and misses the playoffs.
Ive never liked seeing the team i root for take a knee when they basically have 1 free play. Maybe they have no confidence in our offense stopping the opponent from running 100 yards back for a score with no time left. Only negetive i can think of is if Henne threw a hail mary and was picked off the stats wouldn't look as good. Fans would count it as a crappy Henne throw instead of realizing it was a free last shot at a score.
