Ravens director of scouting Eric DeCosta says Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie "might be the best cover guy in the entire draft." However, DeCosta doesn't think DRC could play full time in the NFL right away. "He needs to get physically stronger. He's a thinner, slender guy." DeCosta said. "Going against backs like Jamal Lewis, you’ve got to be able to do some tackling. I think he’s a work in progress, a developmental guy." He still has a lot to prove. Before the senior bowl he was considered a better athlete than football player. Or so I have read.
I know we probably don't have a chance at this guy, but I sure hope we are able to find ourselves a good CB in this draft... we need one desperately
I liked his potential a long time ago and like Philip Rivers, his stock has really soared from being just a 2nd-3rd round pick.
Did I hear the guys on Sirius radio today right, Cromartie only has one kidney, will that hurt his stock?
Correct, he does have one kidney. It wont affect his stock at all because he has been playing like that for long time now and he has been successful so far. Also, he has never had an injury problem with it according to him. There was an article that I posted on the other site about him and one kidney. I will try to find it and post it. EDIT: Here it is. http://www.latimes.com/sports/football/nfl/la-spw-nfl30mar30,1,2499801.story
http://ajs.sagepub.com/cgi/content/abstract/36/1/85 Considering DRC's done ok so far, it should be a non-issue.
Unless he bulks up DRC is not going to last long at the pro level. There is a big difference between putting a hit on a guy from the Univ. of Tennessee-Chattanooga and the NFL.
True, But in the NFL you have more strength coaches than in Division II They are also nutrisionist that will help him put on weight the correct way.
Hes got a tall frame, so he could add some bulk without to much issue I think. I actually have him pegged to the Bills in my mock. Hes tall, fast and an athlete that can have a decent chance again a guy like Moss.
That's true of many corners coming out of college. With a full training regime and no classes, you've got a lot of time to bulk up.
