Good point, but over the past 3 seasons, this FO has done things fans say they would never do.

This is premature, but I'd love to walk away with Baldwin or Floyd. If we have a chance to give Marshall a major complement then I think we should take it.

Then grab big NT Kendrick Ellis from Hampton with our 3rd.

If I'm not mistaken, some of our gurus projected Baldwin to be a top 5 pick. I would hate to be in a position to draft him in that case.

It's possible that Baldwin does go high, but there's enough elite receivers that I'm hoping 1 of them is available when we draft...... still have AJ Green and Julio Jones in the mix, too. With how talented this draft is, I could see 1 of the big 4 squeaking past the top 25. It could shape up like the 09 draft where Britt and Nicks got pushed down to the bottom of the round.

As you said, premature, but its fun to think about, for me at least. I know some people wouldn't like the pick but you've got to think somewhere in the first couple rounds, they are going to look at Orlando Franklin from Miami as a Guard prospect. A line of Long, Franklin, Grove/Berger, Jerry and Carey seems quite tempting to me.

If a receiver slips from one of those three, it'll be Julio Jones IMO.

I think you're probably right Alen. I love what he brings to the game as far as physicality and he would be awesome for our run game. I only hope he can show some consistency this year. yay nay?

I'm with you on this. I'd have to believe all this shuffling around nonsense is wearing a little thin on Tony. He probably wants this crap over and done with already, so I wouldn't be surprised either to see another 3rd round Guard drafted (although I'd prefer it to be a Center who can play guard). I badly wanted to trade up our 3rd in 09 to grab Louis Vasquez, so I'm still looking for "that guy". Thanks for the heads up on Franklin. I was right about Jerry last year, so it's your turn to nail the guard this year.

Heck, if none of the WR's, FS's, Rudolph, or Powe (yeah I'm with you on him too) are around in the 1st, I wouldn't be opposed to going C and then G in the 3rd. I really want to dominate the snot out of the LOS!!!!
By the way.... it's fun for me too. :D

Yeah, he appears to be a slow starter. Needs to run crisper routes IMO. I hope he gets it together this year.

I think Franklin's going to go pretty high. I don't want to say anything that will bite me in the rear end come April but I think he's pretty good and has a lot of talent.

Say we pick 28 and both Ricky and Ronnie are gone next year. Actually say Ricky does play one more year. Who do you take? Evan Royster or Ryan Williams?

    Ryan Williams.

Just got done watching the Miami - Wisconsin bowl game. That was not pretty. Orlando Franklin impressed though. Can't say the same for Gabe Carimi. I think it's telling that Wisconsin keeps their tight ends in so much to run the ball. They also don't appear to do a lot of man blocking. It appears to me the entire offensive line is not particularly strong, they just execute their blocks together. Their Center, Moffitt, may be their second best lineman. Lance Hendricks is a quality H-Back prospect.

You have to add Michael Floyd from Notre Dame to the super four that are coming out this year. I tend to agree that Julio Jones will last the longest with the first overall wr going to Baldwin or Green IMO. Add to these the fact that there are probably another two or thee real nice prospects and you have a mega draft for WRs. Its the main reason I was willing to wait one more year before addressing our WR needs

IMHO if Garners continues to develop and with Groves salary you gio with a guy that is more insided out than outside in....my target and a guy I love for round 2 is John Moffit ..... as you know.

Will Pouncey be as good as his brother? I haven't seen enough to make a quality guess yet. If so, do you go after the homerun with Pouncey and push Berger back to #2?.... or do you let Berger stay #1 and grab a 3rd/4th round C to back him up?

I want to keep my eye out for some massive tackles who can kick inside to G ala Carl Nicks.

Is Ryan Williams expected to come out this year? It'd be great if we picked him! Is Graig Cooper another good option for us? I think we'll need a RB next year and should take one in one of the first two rounds. Maybe even pick up another one late in the draft.

If Henne slipped for whatever reason I'd seriously consider Christian Ponder if available. I do see potential in Tyler Thigpen, though. Any thoughts on the other Notre Dame TE, Mike Ragone? I have been tracking him, but I just googled him and found out that he has been battling knee injuries and was busted for pot possession several months ago. That's a fresh strike one and strike two right there. Kind of takes the edge off my enthusiasm for him, but he still looks like a player to me.

The problem is that they'll most likely all be gone before our pick with maybe Floyd lasting that long. I wonder how high Greg Little from UNC will go, he definitely has my interest. Talented big bodied WR with wheels.

I don't personally feel like Nose Tackle is really a big need. Paul Soliai is a pretty good starter, and he's shown flashes of big upside at a position that really seems like it takes years to really come into a prime at. If you can harness what he seems to do against Nick Mangold more consistently, he's a pretty damn good player.

I think he's as good a pure blocker as his brother. Perhaps better. I don't think he's an NFL center.

Thomas Claiborne of BC is a guard who will end up at center. He's a real load in the run game.

The Dolphins need speed on offense. A Titus Young type at WR. If he develops into a Mike Wallace then this is the best WR group in the league. They need speed at TB; Kendall Hunter is a quicker version of Davone Bess for the Cowboys. I think we need a better center, but it's a terrible year. It's also a terrible year for tight ends. I'm with Disgustipate on NT. I like Soliai. I think we could do with another edge rusher and a strong safety.

Lighting candles in church for speed !

Regarding TE's , that seems to be a position you can get a quality athlete at in the mid rounds . Are you basing the quality of the TE class with that provision Boomer?

There doesn't appear to be the handful of round 1 or 2 types , but do you see some mid round depth that could produce as has happened?

    Cheers.

Not really mate. More basing the TE class off of the fact that it's generally woeful. Lance Kendricks of Wisconsin would bhe the only one that fits the bill of the seniors.

Is Kyle Rudolph an option if we move down some? I know , hard to say with the injury and him not being able to work out , but that was the scenario for several injured TE's over the last few years .

With the lack of SR talent , more underclassmen may declare to fill the position void perhaps.

I REALLY think Rudolph is overrated. He's very slow and runs bad routes. George Bryan of NC State is a much better player ona 1/4 of the publicity.

Monumental mistake IMO. BUT, he's losing LT Lee Ziemba, LG Mike Thingy and C Ryan Pugh, so I can sort of understand 5%. But he has fundamental issues that need working out and a second season at Auburn puts him in the top 5 next year.

Money now , right decision if that is what you base it on, maybe not the correct one if you base it on succeeding at the next level.

He's not a TE, he's a QB. He's a better passer than Tim Tebow in terms of his fundamentals. His arm is much stronger than Tebows and he's faster and a better athlete. He's an NFL QB.
