I think what you've really got to hope for in regards for Tight End is for Vernon Davis to somehow shake loose from that mess in San Francisco and want to join baby brother.

He may be a Vince Young type of development, taking a bit longer than others but eventually getting to a point of having some success.

He signed an extension earlier this season IIRC.

My sentiments too. I don't think he'll become anything special in the NFL.

Are there any guys that you're in love with who fit our draft needs who aren't top 10 picks?..... b/c I'm having a little trouble with it this year (thinking about Oline doesn't excite me all that much).

I forgot Andre Ellington's a redshirt Soph. I doubt he'll come out, but if he does he'd be a perfect compliment to Ronnie. Chant it with me now: "Andre! Andre! Andre!"

I'll have to go through my book and look at my notes as they're all beginning to fade into one right now. Pernell McPhee of Mississippi State and Nick Fairley of Auburn are probably the two players that made me sit up and go 'whoa', along with Justin Blackmon. Offensive line play has been really average. Lee Ziemba is good player at Auburn. Let me go through my notes - I'm pushing 65 different teams seen already with a load downloaded and unwatched as well so there's been a LOT of notes.

Sigh. Well I guess we can throw QB back on the list of needs.

What do you all think about addressing the interior of the O-Line? Is Pouncey a franchise Center? I wouldnt be opposed to taking a big time center. One scenario could be draft Pouncey, then sign D'angelo Williams as our HR back.

I don't like Derek Sherrod of Mississippi St as a left tackle prospect. Maybe a ZBS RT or a Guard. I don't like Demarcus Love either. He is incredibly sloppy from what I've seen but I'll keep on watching him to see if he shows me anything good.

I don't think Pouncey is a franchise Center. Hes a good Guard tho IMO.

If you get to watch Love against LSU, let me know if you think he's the type of guy we'd like at RT..... or LG for a year or 2. I came away impressed from the game, but maybe I'm missing something. (I agree he seems to need some polishing though)

I believe he is a true sophomore but his high school graduating class is 3 years removed, so he is eligible.

    Well, imho we need:

    -center
    -Guard
-Olb depth, we need some prospects on the edge.
    -Te
    -Running Back

Believe it or not, we could also use a young Qb to develop as Thigpen is a FA after the year, if he leaves we are down to Henne and Brandstater, we could use one more Qb, maybe Joe Devlin?

Think that's a very solid list. Pat Devlin would be an interesting prospect at QB. Only thing I'd add is if you get a chance to tab a deep threat WR (Titus Young or someone similar) I would take him.

wow. dont like demarcus love? he's been great every time i watched him. but then i watch it from the physical point of view rather than technique wise for the reasons we have discussed in the past. still havent seen him play that sloppy overall. generally has nice form

in fact if we didnt pick up one FA this offseason I would look to draft him with our first and follow that up with OG Schilling in the 3rd just to shore up our line once and for all
