This was the cause of the flare-up. I struggle to pick a single quote, so read the entire thing. Langford saw too, but not the refs. http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...-crowder-says-ravens-fb-spit-in-his-face.html
Channing. STFU and make a play. You had over a quarter of football to take care of that and you didnt.
WTF were you doing in his backfield Crowder, called Time out or not. You are shiiiiit on defense today so I would say spit must taste a tad better then a turd that they shoved in your mouth, all day, all game.
Regardless of the result of the game, spitting in another persons face is just plain disrespectful. Oh and it's ho' ****.
Take your anger out on the field (and against your opponent) Crowder. Not is a post game rant. Typical.
Who freakin' cares, Channing? Win a game against a good team and I'll be righteously indignant for you.
About time someone spit in Crowders face..... the guy talks so much garbage week in and week out and never backs it up. If it actually happened I'm sure that POS deserved it. He gave Mason bulletin board material during the week and it always backfires. When are foolish Crowder fans going to open their eyes and realize the guy hurts this team. Screw Channing Crowder. He is an total a-hole hack who deserves everything he gets. He got his *** handed to him again today missing lanes, tripping over his feet and whiffing. I hate the personality and the player.
Interesting that you guys would just take it. A man spits on another man and you're cool with it. Not where I'm from.
As long as the subject is live, Dan Henning spit in my face. Repeatedly. Every time I tune in to watch Dolphin football. During certain drives and late in games. He'll call play action when we haven't run the ball at all. He'll call play action late in the game when we are down and can't afford to run. He'll change the gameplan mid-game because it's working, hoping to somehow catch somebody in the stadium off-guard.
What bulletin board material did he give? He said Mason was...and I quote..."good as hell." Baltimore's beat writers created this conflict and continue to perpetuate it. Ironic how some fans hate Crowder and yet he's the most popular player in the locker room.
Exactly..... who is buying anything coming from Crowder. He is a lie on the football field with his play why believe anything else he says or does We see it with our own eyes for 60 minutes every sunday Crowder is a farce
Now for all the covert Ravens fans in this thread , Derrick Mason rips Crowder postgame. And says he deserved to get spit in the face. http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...im-derrick-mason-fires-right-back-at-crowder/
Muck, I'm not justifying it. Or, saying it's cool in any way, shape, or form. But, this is typical Crowder BS IMHO. He talks trash before the game. Plays a sub par game. Then, he complains afterward because the opponent didn't play by the rules. F that! Just leave it all out on the field, and keep your freakin' mouth shut. Besides, like KP said...he prolly said something on the field to instigate it in the first place.
lit a fire under Mason when he called him the old guy and didn't know his name. I can't believe anyone would even back Crowder after that mockery of a sham of a travesty we saw today. Channing was horrible. Been a while since I've seen an ILB get pushed around like that. Especially one who has constant diarrhea of the mouth.
Spitting in someone's face is beyond the rules. That's man code. I don't recall Crowder whining about anything other than this. Not picking on you personally, but fans always seem to be under the impression players call the media to their locker and pontificate. They're asked a question....they answer it....and then the media does what they want with the sound bites. Dansby and a few others talked about it too. Said they'd handle it in the street if the league didn't. Dansby's a baller. Doesn't change the fact that spitting in someone's face is weak and it's a lot more interesting when these guys speak openly.
Did you watch the video of that actual interview this week? Guys invent stuff all the time to get themselves fired up. Homer media did it for Mason this week. Again, watch the video and tell me he was disrespectful to Mason. As for his play, that's another matter. There's nobody better on the roster. And it's got nothing to do with being spit on. Easy now. Pretty certain we wouldn't say this anywhere near him.
i still can't believe we gave him a nice contract .... what was more disappointing was that Dobbins couldn't beat him out - even though he is relatively one dimensional. But then again, what is Channing .... besides a loud mouth .... i don't think anyone condones spitting in a man's face .... and no matter how much of a locker room guy he is ... it doesn't come out on the field - where it really matters. I'd even bet McClain would beat his @$$ in MIAMI as well .... as he doesn't play with one ounce of toughness.
Under no circumstance is getting spit on in your face acceptable. And Crowder does not deserve it. I would have been ejected from the game. Possibly from the league.
Like I said Muck...I'm not justifying it. Or, saying it's cool in any way, shape, or form. But, and I will also say this (and I did play ball), if a guy on the opposing team did that to me, he'd probably have to be carted off the field before the game was over. Crowder on the other hand seems to find some solace in whining to the media about after the game. Players play. Just sayin'.
He did an excellent job of watching the play develop. He had arguably the best seat in the house. He got to celebrate with Soliai when Soliai made plays, ect.
Next play I would've rammed my fist or elbow right into his throat. Depending on the angle. If I get a 15 for it, so be it.
It wasn't a big contract though (3 years, $13 million I think). Basically there weren't many/any better options and the contract reflects it. Run defense has been better since Crowder returned. I think that's a visible difference he's made. He's generally come off the field on third down this year, which is optimal. In a fight, I'd have to put money on Crowder. Confirmed brawler. I don't know. I didn't really focus on him. But I wasn't defending his play either. Not sure what you want here.
If a ref saw it, they would have ejected him......but that's not the reason we lost. I agree with the other point though....two Ravens hit Henne while he was sliding...I was like, "Umm, hasn't the laegue been preaching about this for weeks now?" There's nobody to blame this week except the Fins on both sides of the ball. They blew it, not the refs.
Not saying it is justified at all.. however, it is not the first time that something like that has happened and it will not be the last. My problem with CC is that if he was SO mad about it. He had plenty of time to take care of on the field. Not run his mouth afterwards about what he is going to do. CC reminds me of some video I saw on the internet in which some younger guys picks a fight with an old guy on a bus. The old guy beats him down... and after the old guy gets off the bus the young guy is running his mouth about next time. IMO, if you are going to do something do it and STFU. nuff said...
