To the surprise of none, if the Cowboys stink under Garrett, Jerruh can simply fire him at the end of the year clearing the decks for a new guy.

Well, as long as he doesn't poach anyone from our Staff I'm fine with it.

Never was a Cowpoke fan anyway.

    In the last 5 minutes...

You'd think the Dolphins were handling the firing.

Indeed. Jerruh doesn't like the publicity of having to admit his domineering way of ownership doesn't work.

Hmm. Would you look at that... Armando Salguero just highfived Bill Parcells under the table.

Jerruh has an overinflated view of the dignity attached to the Cowboys, he won't toss a head coach out of a job without ceremony.

"It is with deep regret I have to announce..."

Maybe we can convince them to offer the job to Henning. Even he could improve that POS team.

Yeah this was inevitable even before their embarrassment from last night. If I had to make an early guess I'd say that Gruden may be a candidate for the job next year, as Jason Garrett most definitely is only the interim solution.

Jerry is the other problem. Jerry only let Wade fire one coach, and Jerry protected Garrett.

Of course. He's Jerry's new HC. He's not the highest paid OC in the NFL for nothing.

First Buffalo, now Dallas...does ANYONE think Wade Phillips will EVER get another head coaching job? He is EASILY the worst head coach in NFL history as far as I'm concerned. My two favorite football teams are of course, the Miami Dolphins...and whoever is playing the Dallas Cowboys. That being said, it's about time Jones finally fired Phillips, but as SteveinColorado pointed out, Jerry Jones is the other half of the problem in Dallas.

Ever since Jimmy Johnson resigned as the head coach amid conflicts with Jerry Jones, Dallas has sucked to the highest level of sucktivity...and that's because Jones won't, or even worse CAN'T let go and let the people he hired do their jobs. He maintains the position of GM and is constantly interfering in the head coaches doing their jobs...hence Parcell's quick departure.

I can't see John Gruden going to Dallas...nor Bill Cowher...nor Tony Dungee or any other available high profile Super Bowl winning coach as Jerry Jones won't allow them to do what they do best.

Like Al Davis, until Jerry Jones lets go of the day to day operations of the team, the Cowboys will always be underacheivers who always fall short of reaching that glorious destination as Super Bowl Champions.

Wade will find work as a defensive coordinator. He is good at that. He's like the defensive Cam Camoron. Great coordinator, horrible head coach. I was shocked to see him named coach of the Cowboys in the first place after what he did with Buffalo.

I echo the call made earlier in this thread...DAN HENNING FOR HC of Dallas!!! lol

Not as good as his reputation would suggest. He wasn’t exactly a prime asset to those Chargers squads from the mid-decade.

The Curse of Flutie does not discriminate. It follows Phillips wherever he goes.

I find it amusing that a guy who had one losing season in his last seven years as a headcoach gets labeled the worst of all time.

You and I could have head coached the Cowboys to the playoffs.

    That's the problem.

so what do you do as your first few moves to create a spark and change things up if your garrett? obviously his first move was promotting pascal to d coordinator(i don't se that as a help) but what next?do you promote a signal caller for the offense while you make your transition to hc for a couple weeks then take over duties once situated,do you make a change at qb with romo hurt and kitna stinking up the joint i don't really know who their third is if thats even an option right now.

on defense i just can't believe al harris isn't already touring the facility as a replacement for jenkins..you gotta get that kind of play off the field and out of your locker room.other than that i don't see alot he can do on that side of the ball.
