I'm no huge fan of what Ricky did either... But jeeeeeeeeezus. That guy was yapping like Ricky banged his mom.

Was it me or did it seem like every 3-5 minutes was a smart *** anti-Ricky comment. He would not give it a ****ing rest.

That's what happens when non football guys are in the booth.

Yeah I felt like ***** slapping the guy. It just shows his lack of football knowledge or creativity. He had to slam RW over and over again because he couldn't come up with anything intelligent to say.
This guy is a complete idiot anyway. ESPN would be doing themselves a favor by canning the obnoxious prick.

Kornhiser , the man with no original thoughts, needed to overstate the obvious with RW. Maybe he left his other show's writers at home

Kornhole is a complete moron, definitely up there amongst the ranks of Dennis Miller. I never thought that I'd be pining for the days of Theismann once again, and it's really ashame to because I really like Jaws.

This was the first, and only MNF game I've watched this year. ESPN is horrible. Luckily for me it was jukebox night in the bar so I didn't have to hear any of the coverage and could just watch the game.

What got me with Kornhole was he originally said "This is Miami's golden chance, going in 0-0 at the half, they haven't been in this situation all year"? . . . I think the crew had to let him know that Miami lost 5 games by 3 points and then he retracted his statement . . . the guy was clueless.

I liked his joke though "If the Dolphins win this game, does that mean the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers will pop beer cans?". Sad? Yes. But funny.

I'm no fan of Ricky either but it was beaten to death.

Kornhole is a complete tool period.

It surprises me that some people still can't see it.
Hopefully last night helps bring Fire Marshall Bill a little closer to his walking papers from the booth.

He takes any opportunity to ramble on and on and on about pointless things.
He is a windbag that offers nothing to a game but annoyance.

Some of his most recent gems showing his ineptness:

"Around the country you won't find people that hate the Steelers, everyone loves them"

"You can tell who has what it takes to be an NFL QB just by looking at them standing on the sideline, they have that look."

    GREAT STUFF, Classic... simply classic.

That was quite funny but Kornhole making intelligent and witty cracks are few and far between. Is there no start to this man talents? Cant stand him.

Reality is reality and like it or not his words were facts - 5 failed tests, walking out on the team...etc....facts are facts.

True but those facts stated once during a broadcast handle the job just fine.

To continually bring it up through an entire half of play is overkill and shows just how talentless Fire Marshall Bill is.

How many times did he have to say it though? If he hasnt got anything else to say then hes in the wrong job.

    Slightly left of center
It isn't just w/ Ricky Williams, the ahole has no knowledge of the game he is an absolute moron, his partner Wilbon is what made the PTI show.
That was the second Monday night game I've watched, and the last while that dee-da-dee is in the booth. Never thought I'd say it but I'd rather listen to Joe "I really sucked so I have to badmouth all the guys that are way better than me" Theisman, than this tool.

You don't get to be a sportswriter for a major national newspaper by being a dummy. Korhieser is a good sportswriter, but, he's clearly a newpaper guy, operating on a television network. He's the thrid guy in the booth. He's supposed to be different and interesting. Much like Dennis Miller.....What's going on is thier trying to get howard Cosell, and, they can't. Cossell was a media icon. Most of you guys under 30 have no idea what MNF is trying to do, but, I know, and, they're failing because, you have no figgure with the "street cred" that Cossell had availiable.

Yeah, well what about those of us over 40 that still dont get it...

I beg to differ all the way around. ESPN has gotten away from "True" sports in many aspsects and have spent the better part of a decade trying to "Gimmick" their product...and I always find myself asking WHY????

Tony Kornholer is not any better of a newspaper writer than he is announcer. He is ALWAYS trying to sensationalize his product..which completely takes away from the sport he is covering.
The guy is a deuche and ESPN has to see this in their ratings....

    You're OLD!

    I'm 41, myself :)

Sure..."Sports entertainment" is big bucks. One thing about ESPN is that they
know how to make money. Sports has become a subject to take angles on. You have Jaws, breaking down defenses during the demographic that pays attention to football, and, PTI, which is sound bites that people can recite at the water cooler.

ESPN is brilliant, brother, and, if you want to believe it or not...The fact remains that they are the leader. We may not like it, but, they are.

Oh.."Why?" --------Money. When ESPN ratings fall, instead of going through the roof, things may change. Untill then, those money grubbers are going to go on hitting the feeder bar.

It's the same thing on a macro-scale as in the 70's. Cossell drew in millions, JUST to see what he'd say next. Ironicly, "Look at that little Monkey run!" killed him and, he wasn't trying to be sensational. That guys was probably one of the least racist guys in sports. But, thing is...Cossell was a breakdown waiting to happen and, he had great chemestry with Don.

Everyone's looking to spark interest in the booth, but, the best human interest is conflict, and, conflict self destrucst after a bit.

Guys screwed his team multiple times. Why should he get a break?

Know how many times I get to screw my company?

    1

Then, I get no rehab starts, or chances that the ruleing class get.

I was screaming at the TV myself. Even Tirico was oblivious to the true nature of the injury until minutes later...then he said, "Ohhhhhhh"...as if they don't have monitors in the booth. It's big friggin' yuck fest on MNF lately with Jaws and Baldy doing their worst best comedy.

jaworski is a good studio analyst, and then only if he has time to formulate his words. he isn't quick on his feet, and therefore a poor choice for the booth.

and c'mon, enough with kornheiser already; he is what he is, which is a funny, witty guy miscast in this color role.

GO made a good point about cosell; the start of the decline of mnf can be traced directly to the time when cosell was ousted from it. no one had cosell's savvy combined with his contacts and his facility with people in the sports world, top to bottom.

add his sarcastic, east-coast edge, and he was simply unique.
