I know you meant good w/this post. But some may misinterpret. I liked how Thiggy rolled out and also ran w/the ball. If he can protect against errant throws and not be a slinger...he can add some spark. He just needs to protect the football. BUT, Henning needs to let him be a QB and play to win.

Here is the deal honestly Thigy has a few things going for him that the others dont. Thigy is Mobile and Fast, he also isnt afraid to make a deep throw. Also Watching him in KC as well He is a much more animated and in your face QB than Henne was for sure. I like his passion I see him as a younger Doug Flutie

You get it, for a host of reasons, they will not give a Qb much freedom..until now.

Recall the great Mike Holmgren/Favre sideline discussion?

    "No more rocket balls please"?

Nature of coaches, it is like they are being forced to park the wagon and horses in the barn and drive the Camaro..:D

Why do people call Thigpen an INT machine? He has 4 more TD's than INT's in his career.

If we need a guy to come in when Thigpen can't take snaps... he has to at least be able to take a snap. lol

Because they watched him force it to Bess last year against Pittsburgh.

I don't want Daunte Culpepper anywhere near this football team.
That is the worst idea ever.

Somewhere in Mobile, AL Pat White is laughing so hard he pissed his pants. Then his phone rings and he says yes I still have my playbook from camp. Sure I can be down there tomorrow afternoon.

It's because his INT's are typically caused by incredibly questionable throws.

I liked the fact that we brought the kid in. He's very unorthodox, can move, and has an arm, but he makes very very poor decisions sometimes. I thought he'd be great for what he did today..come in a game, give a spark, and move the ball....just not relied on to carry a team.

Now, not that I don't think that he can't...he has won with less. It's just that I've seen a lot of him and I don't see him being an every down NFL QB.

Hope I'm wrong, best of luck to him. But I'd feel much better with Henne back there if possible...

Culpepper and Garcia honestly. At least that way you have a guy who can stretch the field as an option or a game-manager. I still think Thigpen succeeds.

agree....no Russell (not at all liking Culpepper either), but Garcia would be a serviceable #2 and what about Nate Davis from SF practice squad? he was a top 5 QB coming out of Ball State 2 years ago and had some big plays in preseason...HUGE arm and mobile but has been dogged by 'learning disability'. The SF forums love the guy and are begging for him to get a start...

Fair enough, but the kid is young. Young QB's will make questionable decisions.

Good luck explaining that though Jaj, when your agenda is "Dolphins win" regardless of who the Qb is, those with cheering interests are less than happy about it..

Are we sure Henne's out? I didn't think it was this serious.

Anybody got a list of current available free agents?

I think Thiggy succeeds as well. I liked seeing him out there.....really did. I wouldnt mind it one bit if he took over the starting QB role....and never gave it up. Develop Henne like we have been...maybe trade him. Would love to see Henne develop into the QB I believe him to be.

What scares me is if Thiggy gets hurt.

    Then Im really, really scared.

LMAO please brother...this describes you to a T...you've made it pretty clear here and on Sick's show that you root for anyone besides Henne....no more holier than thou stuff please, you have your agenda just like others have theirs. Countless times I've read/listened to you spew anti-Henne rhetoric, and you see this is an opportunity to push him out the door so you're jumping on board. I honestly hope Thigpen leads us to a successful rest of the season purely for team sake, but I also believe Henne is the better man for the job given his talent moving forward in the future. If Thigpen proves me wrong however, so be it, I will root for him just as I would have for Henne, or even Marino.

tell me about it. Seven days ago this board was full of his posts SCREAMING for Henne's benching, and that the savior Pennington could come in and lead us to the Holy Land. A lot of us here questioned Pennington's durability to last the season, let alone 1 play! As long as Henne isn't playing it seems he thinks we are better off. (EVEN WHEN HENNE PLAYS GOOD, LIKE TODAY)

    Of all the bilge.

Bro, put it this way, I thank you for next time not putting words into my mouth, or reading more than you can possibly know about my thought in a statement I may make.

I have been crystal clear, my desire is to win, I do not care who accomplishes the winning, Henne, Penny, Thiggy, Ronnie, it does not matter to me.

I very much disagree with the words crystal and clear, but whatever you say man...and by all means people are free to listen to "your words" on past recorded Sick shows or read your past posts to figure out just what you meant for themselves...forgive me if I'm wrong.

    Where are we tho?

Today we saw that Penny was a wasted signing as a player and well IMO at least, probably more of a distraction than mentor. Henne has spent this entire season playing like a guy on a leash...... waiting for today to happen. And what happened today rests squarely on the shoulders of Tony Sparano, who's future now likely rides upon the fortunes of Tyler Thigpen.

Oh ......and what makes you think they'll change? They tried to make Pat White into a Pro style QB.

Thiggy better not be running too much given the depth and we're going to see what he looks like in the pocket leading this offense........ I doubt they adjust to his talents..... it's just not their nature.

BTW remember that victory dance you did over Penny's inauguration?

    Well

Doesn't matter, the point is, you go over the castle wall with who you have, not who you'd like to have.

Agreed. Anyone not concerned with loosing Jake Long needs to give their head a shake. Who's the backup? You want to talk about a drop off in talent from a starter to a backup, its right here, at LT. Even if they decide to move Carey over to the left side, and replace him at RT instead, the talent drop off even in that move, especially with how Carey's been at times this year is huge. Its definately something to worry about when we're already struggling at run blocking, and the offense as a whole as been pretty anemic.

What's about a win with possible injuries that could make this win useless for this season.

I'm happy we won but it's kinda hard when our key players could be out for the season.

Please do, I have not called in for a month, I have been nothing but lukewarm towards Henne comparing him to a better version of Frerotte, and even when I truly did have a couple of hours of being incredibly pissed at him, I walked it back after listening to his interview on 970 winz where he knew he was in trouble and did not need me slamming him.

    Clear enough?

yeah, god forbid he think about the next game, or the next game after that, and so on....that these key injuries could very well affect...in turn leading to loses
