We got the biggest win of the season, and maybe for a number of seasons. We got VG play from our QB's- Penny, Henne, Thigpen, Ronnie, and not too much from Marshall. The Wild Cat is alive. Fasano played like a Pro Bowler-r 5 catches for 107 and a TD. Hartline was close with 5 for 98 yards. Cobb came out of nowhere with 3 for 35 and a TD. Jones came out of nowhere with 2 tackles, a sack, and a pick. Henning called a great game. He really messed up in calling a pass with 5 minutes left, when we NEEDED A FG and settled for a TD.
i was very impressed with Henne today. Forget the stats or that we won, the important thing is he attacked the intermediate and deep areas of the field today and unlike past games, he didnt stop attacking. He took the message of the benching to heart and came out attacking. He needs to keep doing it every week and not go back into his shell. This is a great forward step in his progress and he needs to keep it going Hartline and Fasano really stepped up today. If they can do that every week (Fasano holding on to the ball, Hartline getting open) it will help our passing game immensely . I actually liked our running backs to day and was thrilled to see Cobbs contributing again. Our oline had a bad day today but our backs ran hard all day Defensively the new faces of Reshad Jones and Al Harris really made some nice plays today. Our pass rush was effective from the inside but the outside rush was mediocre. The blitzing defensive backs were very effective today however. Overall did a good job on Chris Johnson even though he did break a couple of long gainers Great to see our defense force turnovers today Very positive day today all around
Wake, Berger, both QBs and Langford is hobbled. brutal i njury day and may end up ending our season if these guys are out for exteded periods
Good day from our D, despite the 17 points. Holding the Titans to a field goal after the botched fake punt was huge. Jones looked solid. Hell, even Quentin Moses may some plays today.
I admit I have been down on the Dolphins this season because of the inconsistent play on both sides of the ball and the play of special teams. Today they played an excellent game against a very good Titans team. I would also have to say that this was by far the best offensive play calling by Dan Henning the entire season. With a quick turnaround game on Thursday and the many injuries on the team. I just hope that the Dolphins are able get a win against the Bears. At least the team will have 10 days to heal after the game on Thursday.
honestly i dont think the playcalling was any different today. what was different was the exectution. Our players actually made plays today. We werent dropping passes or having penalties kill our drives
I don't know about that. A fake punt from our own 27, a flea flicker, and a Marshall pass seemd a bit different to me.
I definitely noticed different play calling, although I think that is just what the coverage dictated. I would love to know if Fasano having a big day was because of the attention paid to Marshall, or just a breakdown by Tenn. I heard on 790 this morning where, I believe it was Finnegan, who said they were ready for 80% of Marshall's routes. Sounds ridiculous, but BMarsh was pretty frustrated.
Did not notice Berger going out adamp. Well, Jake Grove is still out there, ditto Donald Thomas. Charlie Anderson as well if Wake is out, and so is Chris McCoy.
wouldnt be surprised if they have marshall figured out but when you give up 29 points, its kind of hard to take serious that they knew 80% of our plays. what does that say about their players? The thing with Henning is he gives you similar looks and does certain tweeks to it to set you up. You think you've seen this play before but in reality we want you to go to a certain spot because we're going somewhere else. He does that alot. Having said that, I think they're going to focus on freeing up marshall this week. Probably give them the same look like they have been all season but have him chnage his routes or tendencies. I expect a 100 yd + game from Marshall this Thursday. I think he'll be the focus of our passing game
Henning even stepped up unless it was Pennington that snuck up there tied him up and took over the play calling.
situational plays. we will always have a couple of special plays here and there. The one new thing I noticed was the shotgun formation henne was throwing out of. I'm pretty sure that was put in for pennington but henne was effective out of it and i hope it shows him he can play out of it
The Tinan's focus on Marshall was big help to Fasano as well as Hartline. However, they still had to get open and make plays, which they did.
A guy who is being overlooked is Brian Hartline, Sunday he had 95 yds his second straight week of close to 100yds receiving. Sooner or later defenses will have to back off Beast or Hartline will continue to torch them, so will Fasano. BTW, I think if you add up CP, Henne and Thiggy's totals, we passed for 340 yds and 3 Td's 1int.
Well, Marshall has had his share of drops also. Marshall was wrong yesterday, its a team game, and that stupid throwing of the ball could have cost us, he is lucky it didn't. He needs to chill and stop acting like Shockey!
BTW, injuries: -Berger -Wake -Long -Bell Stradford was just speaking about YB being injured as well, we could see Jones/Clemons on Thursday evening.
Yeah, teams have Marshall figured out. Double and triple team him on every play, and you have a fair chance of stopping him. LOL
Hartline has been really good for the last month. If he becomes consistent, I can see a top ten #2 WR. I don't believe Fasano has been given enough credit. He has had to block so much, doing a great job, that his stats are far less than they should be. I want to keep him.
