The Miami Dolphins #1 priority this offseason should be trading for Kyle Orton.

We'd have a better shot at Tebow and that's only bc he's garbage to everyone but the moron who drafted him.

I like Orton as a place-holder, but he's no franchise QB. His receiving options in DEN are nothing to sneeze at either, imo. I can't see him going anywhere regardless.

If he's our #1 priority then I'm ****in terrified for the future.

I think most would agree that throwing twenty TDs and only six INTs on one of the worst teams in the league shows that you have a great QB on a crappy team.

How was their offense that bad?

They have a good OL, good RB, def good WRs, had a good offense-minded coach etc.

    Hmmm...

    Good O-line, check
    Good RBs, check
Good WR, Brandon Marshall, Bess, Hartline, check

Sounds like the Miami Dolphins to me...

I can see the new HC/GM wanting to get the whole "Tim Tebow" fiasco off of the table ASAP. The next HC will more than likely have a fat contract with at least three years with no worries. Just let Tebow sink or swim, he wins no matter what.

Wasn't your point that he was working with a bad team?

I'm a huge Purdue fan and watched him in College and he was really good there. Then I watched him as he took the bears to the playoffs only to be replaced by Cutler who stunk it up. They guy does have skills, he is very much like Drew Brees and most Purdue QB's. Not a huge deep threat but very accurate and smart. With the exception of Curtis Painter who is just terrible.

You should listen to Mike Lombardi on Kyle Orton. He was on espn radio today , and was not very enthusiastic about Orton , at all.

I value Mike Lombardi's opinion tremendously.

With all due respect to the OP, IMO our #1 priority should be landing a #2 WR who can:

    1. help open up our entire offense (both run and pass).

    2. draw some of the coverage so that $47 million Brandon Marshall can actually play like Brandon Marshall.

    3. give Henne another much needed weapon to aid his development and just make things a little freakin easier for him for once.

    4. provide our WR corps with some MUCH NEEDED depth (so we don't have to face next year what we've seen the past few games).

    5. allow us to play Hartline all over the field and create even more mismatches (sorry.... it would help us create mismatches b/c right now we don't create any ) Think of Austin Collie or Jordan Shipley type hybrids.... not to mention Bess needs breathers in the slot and Hart is great inside.

    6. Give Bess, Fasano, and our RB more room to operate underneath.

    7. Provide the offense with a much needed playmaker who can pick up chunk yards and is a threat to score whenever he touches the ball.

Our skill players do nothing as a whole to create ANY space on the field or force defenses to defend the entire field. This is a SERIOUS problem that should NOT be taken lightly!! IMO it's more important than going after a RB like Ingram who doesn't do much to open up space. We need to get out of this damn tight 20 yard box where space is as hard to come by as waterfront property on the moon.

People who want to see the offense improve, well this is the easiest way to do it.

There's 2-3 1st round guys who can help us.
    1. AJ Green (I doubt we draft low enough to get him)
    2. Julio Jones (I have some question marks about him being more than a possession WR at the NFL level)
    3. Justin Blackmon (If he enters, he's probably our top guy)

And we can probably top it off in round 4 with Greg Little who has #1 WR potential (although he's my personal choice) to eventually take over for Marshall.

We could conceivably trade back our first and still pick up Blackmon..... use a 2nd on our needed explosive, COP back (Kendall Hunter).... use our 3rd on a playmaking TE (DJ Williams or Lance Kendricks).... take Little in the 4th...... and if you add them to Logan Mankins in FA and an aggressive OC, our offense could be transformed overnight, and Henne would have no excuse to not succeed.

So, have we completely given up on Henne already? This guy is 13-11 as a starter with little to no supporting cast around him. Whether it is the run game lacking, injuries to his WR corps, or playcalling.

Chad Henne won't succeed with Dan Henning calling plays. If we get rid of Henning, I can almost guarantee you will all see a complete 180 turnaround. Henning puts him in the most awful situations. First, it was the wildcat. Even though the WildCat has improved lately, it still takes the ball out of a young QB's hands and you just can't do that. You can't take him out for 3 to 4 plays at a time and have him watch from the sideline. It takes a QB out of rhythm.

Also, the redzone playcalling by Henning has been the worst. If it's 3rd and anything longer than 7 yards, we run the ball and settle for a field goal. Something like 50% of the time we are inside the 5 yardline, we have passed. It's ridiculous.

With a group of healthy receivers, protection, an established run game, and a new playcaller, Henne can really succeed. I can feel it. He has shown tons of potential, but this season has been interrupted by so many things.

Sorry, I meant with their W/L record so horrible their defense stinks. Their offense looks very similar to ours regarding talent.

    Are you kidding me?

    A) One of the best O-lines in pass protection, Henne has ALL day to throw usually.
    B) We have two good RBs and a nice all around player in Patrick Cobbs.
    C) A top five WR in Marshall and the best slot WR in the game...

I can't believe the excuses people STILL are making for Chad Henne.
