    WE BEAT THE FRAKIN JETS. That alone makes this thread!

    Brandon Fields punted 10 times for 564 yards. I have seen a lot of football for many a year. I have NEVER seen a performance close to what he did by any punter.

    Cam Wake is not human. I told my wife he was gonna make a big play at the end of the game, as he has done before. He made two, in spite of the Jets passing 44 times.

    Sean Smith did not catch a couple of int's but, he did not allow anyone else to cath the ball, and has become one hell of a tackler.

    Our entire D was Phantastic, and will likely move up from #4. Just wait until they mesh, and know what they are doing.

    Thoughts?

    Ahwwooooooooooooooooo.oooooooooooooooo

    Young guns D is only getting better:

    McF=3 yds
    Hillis=40 yds
    Jests=3 pts

    Wake up to 14 sacks, these guys are balling out*

    *Sean Smith needs two crab claws in place of his hands so maybe he can hang onto interceptions...

    At least one crab claw, he could look like a fiddler crab....

    14 pts, 10 pts 3 pts...Nolan, Shalon Ninja Jedi bad news dispenser for offenses is moving into Bill Arnsparger Territory.

    That dude is good.

    This defense is growing and growing and growing....... right before our eyes like a Chia pet. It needs nothing but a little bit of depth and maybe a more reliable and healthier MLB to replace Crowder. With Bell not having "babysitting" duties any more, he's playing at a very high level IMO and looks like he could maintain it for at least another year, if not 2.

    Moses & McDaniel have become our 12 men on the field IMO. Moses's light has come on, and he's been playing at a high level on virtually every snap since preseason. VERY glad we kept him around. These guys need to be locked up b/c their depth is invaluable to our D IMO.

    Defense. One good pass rusher away from being the best in the league.

    Cameron Wake is an unholy union of athleticism and unrelenting persistence.

    They got a W

    They got a W against the Jets

    They got a W against the Jets in their building

    They got a W against the Jets in their building allowing only 6

    Special Teams was outstanding and we did win in 2 of 3 facets of the game

    Fields and Wake were amazing, as was Smith. The dropped INT's only prevented the game from being a blowout, provided he houses two of them.

    Well, with 3 pts allowed, and with Chicago giving up 35 pts, maybe they move into the Top 3 heading into the Bills game?

    Man did I battle for that guy this offseason...Had him projected correctly...I saw short area quickness, mimicking skills, and instincts that made me believe in him.

    Your picture sig got me thinking about what you said in another thread about these two cats working together..This is an underrated part of Sparano, I guess some might think hes just a paison from new york, but the man has true skills as a communicator and relationship developer...he has a way of showing respect to other's that is unique, complimenting, and genuine.

    Bro, if you have never heard Mike Nolan give an extended presser, you really should, dude's personality is "Coordinator" he needs Sparano as they both are sort of football savants and professionals.

    Defense shut down the Jets, is on a hot streak, and when the interviews were happening post game, Mike Nolan quietly wheeled his luggage out of the locker room and did not say a word to anyone at all..that is Mike Nolan.

    I need to add in Misi. He has been rock solid in setting the edge, being in position, tackling, and pretty good in coverage.

    Almost all DE's switching to OLB in the NFL have problems, in their first season, in the pass rush. Misi had said that, after his early 3.5 sacks, teams adjusted to his bull rush, his only move. He appears to be a student of the game. I'm betting that next year he is stronger, smarter, and with another move or two to become a legit pass rusher.

    I saw on ESPN that Field's average was higher than anyone since 1970 with min 10 punts. I kept watching the Jets returners running backwards on every punt. He said, afer the game, that he did not have to worry about kicking inside the 20, and could just let it fly. That he surely did. Consider the conditions, and even kicking into the wind. Never saw anything like it, even with Ray Guy.

    Each one of those scared me because that is generally when teams have great returns.

    Good job by the return defense team

    If you look at the guys missing and developing, the depth is already here. We just need to keep this Band together.

    Tuff to return when you're running backwards to catch up with the kick.

    A lot of times that makes it easier to return because they have "out kicked the coverage."

    Most times I would agree but, not this day. Fields was launching rockets with returners just trying to catch up with them.

    I do not think you are giving enough credit to the coverage team. They did an excellent job and deserve some props.

    his time in SF was such an unmitigated disaster, and it was mostly his fault too. His defense in SF was terrible at times and it was because he'd do crazy things like use an OLB at Nickel. (He really did do that with Julian Peterson. It didn't work) He NEEDS limits and I think he knows it or is at least a little more aware of it.

    Also his offense never went anywhere as a HC. im sure if someone comes calling he may go, but i won't be surprised if he doesnt either.

    Smith added 10 pounds of muscle this off season, and learned how to tackle with it. He lost his job because of being slow to pick up Nolan's D. That's a whole lot for him to be thinking about, without being surprised by the ball.

    Next year, he will be looking for picks, and will make them. Guaranteed.

    I don't think a guys hands just magically get better. There are lots of CBs who just flat out cannot catch the ball and never will. Will Allen was like that too. For the Giants, Will Allen should have had 10+ Ints one season but only managed to catch 1. They are who they are.

    But, hopefully like Will Allen, Smith continues to be a good CB and make the stops when they come his way. Theres no doubt that the difference between this Jets game and the one earlier was Sean Smith vs. Jason Allen. Smith and Davis are the best young CB in the league and it should stay that way for awhile.

    also lets give Vontae some major props on that deep ball to braylon. Braylon was PI'ing the whole time and Vontae still outplayed him.
