You have a sick mind my young friend, if NY doesn't land Melo its not the end of the world.....we need a defensive minded player not more scoring.
My crystal ball sees endless 57 win seasons for the Knicks....good.... and annual Eastern Conference Finals beatdowns. Maybe that is what they want. Funny thing is that they have alot of pieces that would fit with a defensive mindset.
That would have to assume that Denver is happy with receiving trash in return. I think they want pieces and there are REAL pieces worth getting out there in Favors, Gallo, Fields, Randolph, etc...
Of course the Knicks will make the playoffs in the terrible East. Sadly, for Knicks fans, they'll have no chance when they get there thanks to their very bad defense. They have no chance in a 7 game series against the Celtics, Magic, Heat, or Bulls. Slight chance against the Bucks or 76ers should they make the playoffs. Really, the Knicks have no shot as long as D'Antoni is preaching not to play defense.
What D'Antoni preaches is that if you can create MORE possessions, and extend a game offensively..that his team, being very good offensively will eventually out shoot / out last it's opponents. Except that good defensive teams LIMIT possessions and some teams like the Heat, use their defense as an opportunity to create extra offensive chances. it is just a terrible system. VERY entertaining though.
Pretty much. Nellie Ball is fun to watch but there's a reason why Don Nelson has 0 championships in 31 seasons as a headcoach. D'Antoni with pretty much the same exact philosophy is sure to follow. I think Larry Brown would be a great option for them, though not sure how much bad blood there is between him and the Knicks.
Fin...where ya at? Is Confidence high? or has reality (The Heat have arrived in NY) set in? The atmosphere tonight will be great......This is what the NBA used to be about and what it can be about going forward.
I'll give my prediction here.... Knicks get off to a decent start...the game is close at halftime with either team leading by 1,2 or 3 points.... Heat have a big 3rd quarter and then hold off a Knicks rush in the 4th to win by 11.....108-97
Truth be told I just got out of a colonacapy and am droggy from demarol....but I will be watching sore but and all.
Knicks fans heading for the exits en masse. Where’s that dedicated, loyal NY fan base we keep hearing about?
Well Section I will have some of that top dollar crow please. To the other Heat fans who just now decided to come into this thread......your moma's are all prostitutes.
I will have your sig ready on Monday. Gotta give me credit...I made a sig bet laying 10 points. Kinda like I KNEW something...right? LOL! Oh...Chris Bosh outplayed Amare? what? yes. Our 3rd option outlayed the MECCA's man. Damn...Gallinari really put it on us though...don;t trade him for Melo.
Agree about Gallinari, that kid can play and will keep getting better....and he is the one Knick who isnt half bad defensively. The whole Knick team was off missing open shots, free throws.....Amare was D'd up no doubt but the other guys just plain missed all game long.
You gotta admit...the garden crowd chanting "Overrated" at Chris Bosh as he outplayed Amare was a bit funny.
It sounded like the NY crowd came in with a plan to attack Lebron and Bosh and both of those guys had the last laugh. Apparently, many of the questions from the NY media pre-game were about NY being the biggest stage and Lebron avoiding it. I see that view point as ridiculous since where ever Lebron/Wade teamed up it would be bigger than NY. I also see that view point as an example of undeserved arrogance. Some people just tend to think wherever they are is the best. Americans tend to think that without knowing anything about other countries. Texans and NYers tend to think that about their state or city. What such people don't tend to realize is that the rest of the world or country doesn't necessarily agree. I've traveled quite a bit and I would say the majority of people outside NY don't think much of NY. There are things to admire in any place, of course. But most don't see NY as a great basketball destination. They don't think the NBA is better whenever the Knicks are better. They like dynasties, but Boston/LA would be as good or better than NY and anybody else. Miami as a dynasty is great for the NBA, but it has nothing to do with Miami. It has everything to do with the players. If Lebron/Wade/Bosh had teamed up in Chicago it would be just as big.
There is a reason the Heat is #1 defensively. They ran the Knicks 3 point shooters off the line and forced them into uncomfortable shots. Then they clogged the lane, while denying ball movement. it was a defensive clinic really.
Also you keep referring to Bosh outplaying Amare....well the FA who has had the most impact is Amare not Lebron not Bosh.
I mentioned it because the garden crowd decided that chanting "overrated" at Chris Bosh was a good idea while he was outplaying Amare. Had Bosh been allowed to take 28 shots like Amare, what type of game would he have had? Anyway..as I type this....Chris Bosh carried us down the stretch to save our *** against the Wiz and the Knicks just lost to Cleveland. As for who has had the biggest impact....well...which is a bigger impact? Going from the toilet to a possible 5th seed (Knicks, Amare)....OR going from a 5th seed 1st round loser to Title Contender? (Heat, LBJ, CB)
You beat me to it. Amare’s efficiency is actually down, while his numbers are up because of a huge shot attempt volume. But hey, any idiot can read a points/rebounds/assist stat line, as the “Amare for MVP” talk proves.
So ALL of Amare's success this season is because he shoots more? If u think Chris Bosh would have the Knicks at this record Ur sadly mistaken. He had the 2nd most 30 point games EVER, that includes players like Jordan, Kobe, Iverson and prince pippen himself who were all "guns". It's sad people can't give credit where credit is due, Amare has been amazing this year, and u can't even admit he's better than Bosh? Funny.
Amare is having a season that he has already had. he is just doing it as a #1 option with a higher volume of shots. Chris Bosh had the SAME season last year. and yes...Chris Bosh is a better player. he is also Younger, more team oriented, plays defense, and has a high basketball IQ. What Amare has on Bosh...Bosh has on Amare in other areas. and again...he is younger with a clearer injury history. and I have been saying it for 3 years now with my top 50 list. They are neck and neck, but Bosh is slightly better...more complete.
