Only thing that killed Henne for me was his lack of fire in the last drive. I didn't see a Qb who wanted to win it.

I didn't see a play call on that drive that could win the game. Screen with 19 seconds left. It was 2nd and 10 wildcat play all over again.

In fairness, the second INT WOULD have hit Bess between the numbers, but Bess slipped and fell. That pick six wasn't Henne's fault. This game was a total team loss and can't fairly be placed on Henne.

I didn't say he wanted to lose. He has no fire and doesn't inspire his players. Bottom line: HE SUCKS.

Give him a break, it's tough to offer constructive criticism when your football IQ is somewhere south of Ronnie Brown's YPC average. Much easier to just use hyperbole and senseless personal attacks. Kinda amusing actually.

Watching the game is easy. Knowing what it is that you're watching is more difficult. I hope you figure that out some day.

I usually attend the games. I decided not to go to the game today because I really had no interest in it. So I was able to actually sit at home and hear what the annoucers had to say. The one thing they pointed out. Was that in talking to the staff of the Dolphins. They noted out that Henne does have periods in a game where he shows ability. The problem according to the coaching staff is that Henne has not shown the ability to put a whole game together. Today was a perfect example of the play of Henne. He started out like he was going to have a good game. He completed some passes and and had a good first half. While he was lucky his TD throw to Bess wasn't intercepted. I give him credit for at least having one TD throw. Once again in the second half with the game on the line. Henne reverted to the QB we have grown used to seeing. He started throwing incompletions and as the game got into the final minutes. He turned the ball over twice.
Also with two minutes left in the game. He once again was unable to lead the Dolphins on a scoring drive to tie the game up. So basically Henne played just as the announcers
stated the coaching staff had stated he plays in a game Good, some of the time. Awful, most of the time. Another problem I see with Henne is the number of balls he has knocked down at the line of scrimmage. Obviously with his height. You would think that he would not have the problem he constantly has throwing the ball over the arms of the defensive players. This is yet another area where Henne has failed to improve. I know there are still some Henne supporters on this forum. All I can say to all these Henne supporters is . I'm sure there is a pill on the market that will fix your delusions concerning Henne.

Na, Henne can be in this league for a long long time! Might be in a backup role but he's ten times better than McRussell...lol

You mean like when you have Marshall dropping easy catches like Chambers used to do or when WR's slip. When they had tempo on offense Henne did a great job. When they played Sparano ball not so much. He ran for his life in the 4th QTR and didn't have much help. I'm not sure that you watched but sure are quick to blame it all on Chad Henne. Just like most of the bashers who have a hard time understanding what they are looking at. :wink2:

The "Henne sucks" chants are not at all productive, but I have a hard time criticizing those who pay good money to go to the game and are repaid with that 4th quarter performance.

A lot of people want to compare Henne to Sanchez. While Sanchez still has room to grow as a QB in the NFL. At least he doesn't sit around and blame the fans when he has a bad game. Instead he takes the heat and tries to improve. Henne on the other hand is upset because he feels the fans don't support him. Of course he is correct. We do not support a QB who has yet to show that he should be a starting QB in the NFL. He has been outplayed in the Dolphins last three home games by, the 2nd string QB of the Browns. The QB who started the season as the 2nd string QB of the Bills. Today he was outplayed by the third string QB of the Lions. who happened to be playing with an injured finger on his throwing hand. So Henne is upset with the reaction of the fan toward him. Too bad. He needs to grow up and start playing like a quality QB if he wants fans to support him. His play this season does not deserve the support of the fans. He has to realize that he is no longer a kid playing the game for fun. He is suppose to be a professional. Earning top dollar to be a starting QB in the NFL. Fans pay a lot of money to attend these games. We expect more from our team and our strating QB than what we have received this year. Henne should be happy that he is in Miami and not playing for the Jets. The fans and the media in Miami are gentle on Henne compared to the reaction his play would get from the media and fans in New York. As the saying now goes. If Henne isn't happy with the reaction of the fans in Miami. He needs to,"MAN UP". Quit crying about the fans booing you and start playing at a level in which these fans will want to cheer you. You are the problem. Not the fans who spend their hard earn dollars to see you and the rest of your offense play like crap.

Unfortunately, next year will look like Groundhog Day. We are in a bad position in the draft, and no one will be there to take at QB, and I still think Sparano will be here. I don't think that Ross has the cajones to get rid of Sparano.

Well, the major delusion I have observed in Henne supporters is that they actually think he can be a long term starting QB in the NFL. Even with with his continued poor play. His supporters still blame the coaching staff and the players around him for his inability to
become a better QB. These supporters obviously do not see the constant mental errors Henne makes, game after game. They fail to recognize that he was only a mediocre QB at the college level and that he is constantly outplayed at the QB position by quarterbacks on other teams who are not even the regular starting QB's on their teams. Henne has shown no improvement this season. In fact his play has continued to to go backwards instead of forward. He makes the same mistakes over and over. He has thrown far more interceptions than TD's. He constantly overthrows receivers when he throws the long ball. I could go on and on, but that should be enough to convince you why I think fans who continue to back Henne as the future of this team are delusional.

Both Henne and Sanchez suck. The only difference is that Sanchez leads the league in dropped INTs.

I agree that Henne and Sanchez are pretty similar in skill level. To me Sanchez is Henne with a better coaching staff.

False. Brady went undefeatd in regular season, and threw 50 tds and 8 picks. Cassel went 11-5 and threw 21 tds and 11 picks. The production is not even close.

    Is that really your argument?

What was clearly one of those fluke career years.

Why don't you compare it to what Brady did the year after Cassel.
    28TD's and 13 INT's and a 10-6 record.

    Like I said, didn't skip a beat.

Brady is more a product of Bellichecks system than he is what makes it.
If you had to have a QB outside of Bellichecks system give me Peyton Manning all day long.

Anxious to read the thread Aqua, but I'd have to say NO to Ryan Mallett. He's got an NFL arm, don't get me wrong, but he doesn't have the NFL mind, footwork, ability to read, etc. Just my opinion.

So, Brady, coming back from ACL surgery, went 28-13. THIS YEAR, he's 31-4, and gonna get MVP. Yeah, it's all Belichek. BTW, what was BB's record BEFORE Brady? Brady is great. Manning throws WAAAAY MORE than Brady...and he plays in a dome for AT LEAST 8 games a year, and his receiving corps is pretty much always better than Brady's.

It is uncanny to see that there is a continual desire to excuse Henne based on Henning; or to resort to ad hominem's; there simply is no defending Chad Henne; just as there is no defending Dan Henning. And, one can't blame the performance of the one on the other.

Since this is a Henne thread - there simply is no denying the fact that Henne has thrown horrific pick six's at the worst possible times and that he threw this game away as he has others. The fact that he make some good plays cannot take away the fact that he makes so many negative plays that it destroys the team. And, his good plays aren't deep enough or big enough to warrant excusing the bad ones. He makes far too many inaccurate and ill-advised throws. He has a long, long way to go before he's a quality NFL QB.

Henne has obvious deficiencies and has not progressed from year one to year two, but here's the reality that few are willing to recognize regarding today's game:
-It's been more or less confirmed that both of today's INTs were not Henne's fault. The first was a route-running error by our rookie tight end. The second was the result of Bess slipping.

    Just sayin'

i still don't know if i agree with the second one and while i am no football guru what i saw(may not be what actually happened as it was from a stream) was bess slip right after he passed the lb wh was waiting and watching henne and the minute henne threw the ball the lb just sidestepped a bit and easy pick.did nobody else also see the other lb(pretty sure it was another lb)right on the other side just waiting in his zone too? that was a ill advised throw from henne to a guy that was double covered.and henne is damn lucky there wasn't 2 more picks when vasher i believe jumped on the one route to marshall in witch they figured him out in marshalls im going to act like im streaking down the field then cut back real quick.it was just a matter of time because we keep throwing that same play to marhsall and if vasher not had a sean smith moment that too would've been taken t the house.then on the other side of the field it almost happened again when the defender jumped the route but fortunately too he had a smith moment. would those 2 interceptions not been henne's fault either?
