What's even better is that I quoted him wrong. Over the last 40 years the Jets have had MORE coaches fired for tripping players from an opposing team than they do Super Bowl wins. AHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!
Since the OP, the jets have gone 1-3. They still have to play the Bills. I don't care if they backed into the playoffs. They suck. Their QB sucks. At least the Miami Dolphins aren't in denial....
If the Jets lose out, they finish 10-6. That sucks? Give me a break. Sanchez posted an 84.2 rating today and a 81.1 last week. The worst loss in this stretch was to your putrid team. I'll be watching playoff football in January. You'll be watching Disney on Ice. Enjoy.
Your QB is mediocre at best. He leads the league in dropped INTs by a wide margin. He had at least 2 of em this week to Chicago. Regression to the mean is a *****, buddy. If you don't what that means, look it up on the Google. If the jets beat the Bills next week, they will have finished the season 2-3. If they lose, they will have finished the season 1-4. Either way, they suck.
11-5. Count it, which is world better than your team. Only the true homers will argue that. Enjoy the golf. A dolphins fan saying the Jets suck. Keep the helmet on on your way to the special school.
Hmmm....kinda like all those years the dolphins would routinely butt rape the Jets and I'd go to the Meadowlands and hear "Dolphins suck!" right? Must've been a ton of helmets there all those years.
By the middle of January, we'll be watching the same thing(foot fetish porn). The soon to be champs did not back up all that "NFL elite" talk. You better pray they beat the Bills to try and create some momentum heading into the post-season. They are facing a one and done scenario.
The whole point of this thread was to predict that the jets would have a memorable December. They did. They shared first place in the AFC East and they proceeded to go 1-3 in the month of December...as per usual! jets suck. to claim otherwise is just plain stupid.
Bickety Bam has no idea about what sport he is watching. The Jets and Dolphins are the same. One has more luck than the other, and one is decimated by injuries while the other is healthy. They are the same. mediocre. Both have timebomb quarterbacks with good defenses. They are mirror images.
We lost Jenkins in game 1. Sparano and Co. suck. Jets have better personnel. Deal with it. sent from my EVO 4G
Just Jenkins and Leonard. We have lost 3 OL, and damn near all of our depth. While losing guys for several games at a time. Jets have better personnel on offense. Dolphins have it on defense. Brad Smith on Special teams puts you over the top...barely. They are the same.
I'll have fun watching the Jets fail as they always do in the playoffs. Your team is garbage and will always be garbage.
So says the jet fan. Which is to say...so says somebody with serious delusions. Everything I said is 100% true. and you know it.
The hilarious thing is that every Jet fan will backpedal after they lose against KC saying: "Well at least we got in the playoffs!" Even though these mongoloids have been crowning themselves all year.
Must be the eggnog Ed, I'll spell it out in simpler terms. No one is living in the past. The Jets are doing better than the Dolphins right now, and you said that Dolphin fans talking trash should be wearing a helmet. Insinuating that they're ******ed. I pointed out that when the Jets sucked and Miami was doing better, Jet fans did the same thing. Are they exceptions, or is the widespread belief that Jet fans are ******s win OR lose just the truth?
'Twas the nogg...and multiple beers. Sorry for getting out of line. I know the Jets would need a miracle to win a championship...I have so delusions. sent from my EVO 4G
And if they don't lose? I hate the Jets as much as anyone, mostly because of most of their fanbase, but they have gotten further than Miami two years in a row.
If they draw the Colts in the first round, I think they are screwed. KC would be a much better match up. But be that as it may, I can not see them beating NE in Foxboro.
You never know. All you need is a little spark to catch fire in the playoffs and you can go far. Look at Arizona when they went to the SB.
If you go back and read my post throughout the season, I have said that the teams are close. But to dismiss the difference as "luck" is not fair. While I think that Sanchez is nothing short of average, I do believe that he is better than Henne at this point in his career. He's not a lot better, but I would trust him in a big spot over Henne. The Jets are clearly better at the running back position. Marshall is a great receiver, and Bess is a very good possession receiver. But the overall group of Edwards/Cotchery/Holmes/Keller is better than the Miami group. OLine is close. We have a better interior line, you have a better exterior line (including the best LT in the game). I'd give a slight edge to the Miami defense. You pass rush better, I think the Jets cover better. Lastly, I think the Jets are coached better. So while the Jets are not a ton better, they are several wins better and I don't think it is luck. That being said, the Jets aren't a championship team. Any realistic Jets fan will admit that. I could see them beating KC in the first round, but not the Colts. And if/when they play NE, it's game over.
The defense is a huge problem. Cutler had ten years and a day yesterday. The offense has responded the last two weeks, but defense wins championships and the Jets don't have a very good one, regardless of what the stats say. Unless Rex can voo doo up a pass rush, they are in huge trouble against a team like the Colts or Pats.
I think you are fair with your assessment above. I don't have an issue with anyone saying its luck though. Luck comes with winning. If you don't have any luck while winning, you may not be winning long because once in a while, it won't bounce your way.
I agree with all of that. We've talked about their defense before and their woes but I think what it comes down to in the playoffs is turnover differential. That's still a possibility for the NYJ.
The randomness in the NFL allows for a tremendous amount of luck. Injuries are a part of that. I am convinced that if the Phins stay healthy, they are playing this weekend with playoff permutations.
That's not when the playoffs were lost. The randomness of the NFL is proven by your very statement. The Dolphins lost to the Jets at Home with a healthy team. Then beat the Jets in NY with a Mash unit.
