If you look around the league , no team is signing anyone. As a rule, around the end of November you usually start hearing about player that teams extended their contracts and such, nothing this year. Just a few on our team, Bess, Fasano and IMO, they let themselves sign for cheap money, do not know why, especially Bess. Anyway, just wanted to point that out. All the owners are not in much of a rush to sign anyone this year it seems, no reason too. FA starts when the CBA expires and while no agreement, nobody can sign their players away. Win win for the owners.
Yep, they are "free agents in name only", the only guys who can be signed are Street FA who are not on a roster. And even then, that ends when the NFL season resets in early March.
Most likely. Another reason why Sparano will be back in 2011 is the uncertain waters everyone is about to tread. Fire a HC, who do you hire ? When are you allowed to hire him ? Can the new coach promise his assistants will even be paid if there is along labor dispute ? Too many creases to iron out this year in replacing a HC.
SAn Fran must have someone already in mind then, they have too. The Denver situation is really messed up, unless you are just going to take the interim tag off of everyone.
