According to Jeff Darlington: http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/01/04/1998615/miami-dolphins-tony-sparano-has.html I'm feeling very mixed emotions about all of this, but hard to decide one way or another until we know what the plan is for fixing this team. How do they plan to find a QB? How will they fix the OL? Who will be running the ball for Miami? What will it take to fix the Special Teams? I hope Ross asked lots of detailed questions and didn't just let them say: "No worries boss, we've got it all figured out."
He may be right but he's basing it on a sense of calm from Stephen Ross...and that's a pretty poor indicator.
Darlington being pushed by Ross's Security Team is the best thing that could have happened to him professionally. Sparano should take: "work smarter, not harder" to heart..
Eh, he's only staying for now b/c the alternative was worse. A 1 armed juggler is better than no arms.
What was the best part of the story you ask?? This, made me giddy! Read more: http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/01/04/1998615/miami-dolphins-tony-sparano-has.html#ixzz1A4Rl4iXk
Ross is making a huge mistake. He will pay because they fans will stop paying. You can guarantee that there will be THOUSANDS of empty seats next year.
Could he have possibly stayed ? If Ross had gone for that I would truly have stopped being a Dolphins fan.
No they won't. Dolphins fans have never stopped paying. If we win the stands will be full, if not they won't. It's been the same for years and is the same way for a lot of other teams.
For me it matters not what Ross says or thinks right now. Players play the games and there is too much descension among them right now for this to ever work under Sporano. Ricky Williams basically said the same thing.... http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/01/04/1999716/ricky-williams-indicates-it-may.html ....and we have all heard the moaning that Brandon Marshall has been doing about Henne. The question of Sporanos return is far greater than his abilities, he has lost both the control and the respect of his team. When that happens the coach is already done regardless of what the owner does. If he doesn't actually get fired we will never have a winning team with him because the team doesn't believe in him anymore.
