Jets are huge underdogs. They need to make Brady work for all their points. I would employ a similiar defense that the Jets used against the Colts and hope they don't convert a 3rd down every now and then. On offense, the Jets should once again play keep away from Brady and control the clock as much as possible.

I think the Jets have a shot, but the odds are long. Hopefully it will be a competitive game. Hopefully the discussion is intelligent :)

Rush three and keep eight in coverage? Is this what you mean? Make the Patriots run the ball?

I think giving Brady time is the worst thing any D coordinator can do. You let him scan the field like that and he kills you. I'd blitz him and take my chances. But what the heck do I know, I am not a coach. Plus your "retread" Woodhead would eat you alive if you rushed three and dropped back, he'd audible a draw and give Woodhead 7-8 yards a pop. Make the safeties cheat and kill you with play action. If you blitz, you dare him to make a big play?

Sanchez will have to be much better than he was last weekend. You can't beat a team like the Patriots without good QB play. The Pats don't have a spectacular running game but it probably is too good to drop eight into coverage on a consistent basis. But the key really is Mark Sanchez. Maybe the Pats will have a little bye week rust.

NE's run game is not awful, The Law Firm was killer for my fantasy team, LOL.

He did have 1,000 yards and double digit TDs and Woodhead can break one. They are not big name players but they are effective. It may come down to turnovers, who throws more INTs, Brady or Sanchize.

I think the key will be the first quarter. Jets need to weather the storm. No way can they fall behind by more than 10. If they do fall behind big early on, it allows the suspect Patriots defense to play without fear of making a big mistake. It also forces NY out of their game plan. Easier said than done. But if they can keep to a one score game, the Pats can't pin their ears back on every down and the Jets can work the running game.

I still think that blitzing Brady constantly is a mistake, especially if they can't get to him with it. I would prefer a "bend don't break" style, mixed in with some timely blitzes. And if would be nice if that sack of crap, Jason Taylor, earned a paycheck for the game. Just sayin'

I don't know if you noticed (and I am sure you have :) ), but Brady doesn't throw very many.

Then forfeiting probably would be the best bet because it seems like Brady hasn't thrown a pick since the Bush administration.

I hear Brady will be sporting the new Uggs cleats. You better hope he has some Gizelle juice on his fingers and it causes him to fumble or throw a few picks.

That was when he wasn't finished, like he is now.

I have nothing personal against JT just because he was a Dolphin. I loved Curtis Martin when he came to the Jets, but the difference is that Martin could still produce. JT is washed up. Most of the time I forget he is even playing. If there was ever a time for this guy to give it one last hurrah, this is it.

    He came in unblocked!

He also strip sacked Brady in the 1st NE game, but for the most part he has been invisible this year. Trust me - I'd love to see him have a big game, because the Jets need all the miracles they can get to win.

It's January. Snow or no snow, you can bank on it being cold.

The last two cold weather games against Pit and Chi, he actually played well....and accurate (65% in each game). It was 25 degrees with a wind chill of 16 in Pittsburgh and 33 degrees with a wind chill of 25 in Chicago.

The Jets are ready, freaking Rex is firing shots at Brady and BB. This game will be physical, some say its 50/50, I am not sure about that because NE is at home and they had a week to rest, but maybe it is. Rex decided to make this personal, which I think favors the Jets.

Rex made it personal the last time.

    45-3.

All he does when he takes shots is make BB and Brady want to embarrass them even more, but his ego is too big to realize that. The only people saying it's 50/50 are people buying into Rex's hype.

Bick, I'm not slamming your team, so there's no need to point out the Dolphins' flaws. I'm looking at this as a football fan. The Jets squeaked a one point win last week over a team with 18 players on IR that they themselves had to squeak by a bad Titans team just to get into the playoffs. The Pats aren't the Colts. They're on a roll with the hottest QB in the league and the best coach - by FAR - in the league.

I don't see this even being close, but I know if it is Bick will let me know. :tongue2:

The jets defense is playing well enough so they won't lose by 40 points again, but a 21 point loss wouldn't surprise me in the least (see all of Pagan's good reasons).
bottom line, doesn't matter what Sanchez did last year (he was respectable - above average for a playoff QB last postseason), right now Sanchez is playing like total crap. He has lost his confidence, very similar to Henne. The difference is, the Jets have a better defense, special teams, TE, OL and RBs than Miami, so they win despite the fact that Sanchez sucks big time. The sad thing is, if you guys had even a Matt Hasselback, you would be one of the best 4 teams in the league.

Going into Foxboro with a QB playing like crap = Jets loss. I can't wait. This is the only game I ever root for the Patriots.

Hmm, no not really, for me the Jets miserable seasons is just how I view them, sort of like the Cubs no matter what they do moving forwards, the Pats I think of the bully, and normally I pull for the underdog.

But man, Rexxy just creeps me out Bro, I see clips of him on ESPN and I cannot help myself from thinking "that dude is freaky".

Not that Belicheat is some paragon, most people forget that he was video taped screwing another man's wife, as per usual with Belicheck, when he is cheating he wants tape to evaluate..

I don't think Snachez is playing like total crap. I do think that something is wrong with his shoulder. He played very well in the Pit win and the Chicago loss. He play badly in the 1st half of the Colt game and played well in the second half. He will need to play well in the NE game, no doubt. As long as the jets aren't playing from more than 10 points down at any given time in the game, I think Sanchez will be fine. If they fall behind big and early, he's in trouble.

As far as Ryan goes, I have no problem with what he says. He's 20-12 in the regular season and 3-1 so far in the playoffs. He must be doing something right. He is not a conventional coach and I don't buy it that his talking will want to make Brady and BB want to win more badly than they already do. What he did was put all the pressure on him and that has nothing to do with ego. But I am not going to argue the point. It is what it is and I am very happy with Ryan as coach....even though his gameday game management can be as bad.

Lastly, I make no excuses for winning the Colts game. That injured team went 10-6 and came damn close to beating the Pats and the Eagles. They are a tough out at home with a GREAT QB. I can not minimize that win. How many thought the Jets would win? Not many. And they guy who has "lost his confidence" and is playing like "total crap", went 3-3 on the game winning drive and accounted for all but 2 of the yards on the drive.

I know Sanchez isn't great, but the biggest difference between this year and last year is that he has shown an ability to make the plays with the game on the line. Above all, that is the biggest difference right now between him and Henne.

I don't expect the Jets to win, but I haven't written it off as an guaranteed loss. Maybe that is the football fan in me.

I want to add that all you can ask is a chance to play these games. Who thought Arizona was going to the SB the year they did? Or that the Giants were going to beat an undefeated NE team in '07? I am a realistic fan and know the Jets chances of winning a SB this year are slim at best. But my goal for the franchise is to be a perennial playoff team year in and year out, so that they at least have a chance of catching fire and making some history. It's too early to say they are that, but no way am I dissapointed in Rex's first two seasons. Just get me to the playoffs and let's see what happens. I am sure most fans of any team would want the same.

A Patriots fan friend of mine said the Pats would win 52-3, lol, he said if I watched the game closer (the one they won 45-3), he said the coaching staff took pity on the Jets and could have scored even more. He said after what Ryan said, the Patriots will look to embarrass the Jets. I told him to take his Patriot blinders off.

I can't ever root for either of these teams.

    I hope the Jests win.

And I actually think they will. Ryan is a fat, loud mouthed slob, but he's a pretty good coach. He will take what the Ravens did last season, tweak it a little, and once again (hopefully) get to Brady and show the world that when Brady doesn't have 35 seconds to throw the ball he wilts.

If the Jests fail to get to him, the Pats will win.

    Listen to my this logic.

I want the Jests to win. Not because I like them better than the Pats, but because I don't want either in the Super Bowl. If the Jests can pull it off, which I'm on record as saying they will, then I don't think they can then beat either the Ravens or Steelers.

Because of the one point loss to the Ravens or the win in Pitt?

I am completely the opposite. I don't think the Jets will beat the Pats, but if they do I think they will be AFC champions.

Both the Ravens and the Jets were rusty in week one, and you beat the Steelers without Polamalu and needing a no call at the end....but keep those high hopes. :tongue2:
