http://www.spokeo.com/ This site could have all your personal info on it. Even a picture of your house and your car. It is pretty detailed. Put your name in there and see what comes up. I put my name and my wife on there and it came up. I blocked it per there instructions which is easy. One had my friend in his driveway talking on his cell.
I tried it a few days ago and it was completely wrong for me. Says I live with my mom in PA, I do not (though it had her address, so long as you could figure out which of the thousands of Anderson's was actually me), also said I had 2 or 3 kids, I have zero, and that I am married (which i'm fairly sure I'm not). I know this is based largely on credit card companies and insurance companies I believe either selling or making public your private info, so perhaps because I'm fairly young, don't have a ton of credit cards, and have bounced around a bit since college that it is confused as to where I actually am. And the pictures it has are really just links to google maps street view, so for anyone who hasn't already been curious enough to look at your own house on google maps its nothing too new there. Or, at least nothing that you couldn't just find on your own after 411'ing someones address. But I have seen it work perfectly for some other people. the sad thing is that, for the people who really do want to steal your identity and commit crimes, they probably aren't even using this site. They'll pay the few dollars it takes to find out EVERYTHING about you, not just what spokeo says. Overall creepy though, and people should be aware that this info is out there, and all in one easily organized spot.
All of my family members that I checked were dead on as far as house and car and names and addresses. My niece sent me this and she is a pretty smart cookie. I even looked up Tony Gwynn, and his name and address came up. If you want to look up people you lost contact with this could a handy tool.
So am I. Apparently my life is so non-interesting even the internet doesn't care. Although I'm not too sure if I should be proud of that.
Copy the link on your page then go to the privacy tab in the bottom right. Walks you through the rest
Nope...... I did give them an e-mail address I don't care about so if it gets spammed no biggie. I figure along with displaying info they are also gathering e-mail addresses to sell.
they only have my email which only has my myspace which has wrong info. doesn't even have my name haha. and says i live in new york. i'm stealthy. i hate to see the info they would have on me
