Sorry if this was already posted; http://www.footballnewsnow.com/2011/chudzinski-front-runner-for-dolphins-oc-job/
Agreed. Not a bad pick at all. Assuming it’s true: after all, Omar Kelly is the source. Now the big question becomes, who’ll be the QB coach? Chris Palmer?
The Dolphins seem to prefer Chudzinski to former Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress, who was set to interview for the position today. Really, Chud is the frontrunner before Childress interviews...
Did they interview Carmichael? Whats with the interest in OC's that couldn't hack it with the Cleveland Browns? Daboll and Chudzinski not very excited about either of them. Romeo Crenell hired Chudzinki when he was HC at Cleveland. This feels too similiar to the whole Parcells method of keeping it in the family that landed us the likes of Henning and Pasqualoni in the first place.
You cannot discount someone who worked with someone who worked with someone who worked with Parcells.
There are probably five coaches in the NFL who have zero connections to Parcells. He is the Kevin Bacon of football.
Actually the big question becomes if we will pull the trigger in time or not. If he's really the "front runner" and they think he's the best man for the job they need to tie him up now. Rivera wants him in Carolina as well. I'd like the hire.
Can't interview him. Guys can't make a lateral move without a team's approval. Hence why I kept telling people the moment Henning was gone to look at re-treads and positional coaches. C.H.U.D.
im not going to take a website serious when they use omar kelly as source, and think the carolina panthers play in Raleigh which is about 3 hours from where they really play in Charlotte nc.
he called us back.thats what he has accomplished.may not be the best coach on the planet but he's a good guy and knows his stuff.plus in case you have been gone this past month it's not like we have many choices..primetime coaches aren't flocking to miami to work with our owner.plus we need to quit screwing around and make a decicion as there is alot of work to do.
Great post. Side note: I'd love to hear what the different candidates are saying about the talent we (do not) have on offense, whether they can work with Henne or not etc.
I never insinuated they were perfect but considering the dog **** that they were I'll take where they are now.
I have nothing against Chud. He was a heck of an offensive coordinator with the Canes. Unfortunately he has never had this same success in the pros. Next year, no matter who is the offensive coordinator for the Dolphins. I still see the Dolphins finishing no better than 3rd in the AFC East. In fact they will probably have trouble finishing ahead of the Bills in the division. So the offensive coordinator will only be here for one year, since he will be leaving town after the season with Sparano, and Ireland.
I think I would rather see Mangini as our OC. I don't think he is good enough to run the whole show as an HC, but I think he could handle being an OC very well. Mangini is pretty sharp. After all he's the one that discovered spygate and also devised a way to beat the Patriots this year. Is he perfect?? Probably not, but he is talented.
Ya, I knew that would raise an eyebrow or two, especially since he's a defensive guy. Obviously I was being sarcastic. I just wanted to see who was paying attention out there. Although I think Mangini couldn't suck worse than Henning did.
Yeah? I thought doing a 180 from a negative starting point was ideal. But going 360? Full circle? You're happy, satisfied going in circles? Tell me what really is the difference between then & now? Six games? Now if we had a six game bump from say 6, 7 or 8 wins then that would be great. But that is not the case.
He has previously coached with the San Diego Chargers (tight ends coach, 2005-2006), the Cleveland Browns (tight ends coach and interim offensive coordinator 2004), and the University of Miami Hurricanes (tight ends coach 1996-2000, offensive coordinator and tight ends coach 2001-2003). During his tenure at the University of Miami he coached three all-American tight ends: Bubba Franks, Jeremy Shockey, and Kellen Winslow II. Chudzinski is often known as "Chud." Attended high school in Toledo at St. John's Jesuit High School. He played college football for the University of Miami from 1986-1990, during which the Hurricanes won the national championship in 1987 and 1989. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Chudzinski
I never said I was happy or satisfied. They have not gone 360 and the base of talent that the team has now is much better than when Cameron was here. I hope Sparano learns from the last few years and improves his coaching. I hope they realize that the O a glaring issue and has to be addressed.
Because he is taking his time to decide if he wants to play, coach or broadcast. he has also said if he coaches he would love to be a High School coach, thinks he can do the most at that level to teach kids the game and how to be good at life.
Ross needs to fix the mess he made and do what he originally was going to do and clean house and bring in Cowher and let him put a staff in place. He has put the rest of the league on notice that Sparano and Co. are lame ducks and has to realize why no one wants to come to his glitzy, glamorous, celebrity orange carpet club. DOUCHEBAG HIDING BEHIND A BANK ACCOUNT!!!!!
"...considering the dog **** that they were I'll take where they are now." They failed in securing a franchise qb despite having the 1st pick in '08 and two seasons later the team sucks a little less but at the expense of not having a top pick to correct their franchise killing decision. So you'll take the 15th pick instead of a top 5 this year? So what if Luck went back, we would still have options if we were in great draft position record-wise. Now the team has to give up premium picks & possibly players to move up. These clowns can't win for losing. Now, isn't the improvement in the talent base all relative? The team's talent is slightly better but do you think the rest of the league stood idle? The other teams improved as well.
