I still think DeAngelo Williams will be on the market. Carolina could use that money more wisely elsewhere. Also, I bet the Raiders wish they could tag Nnamdi.
They'd be crazy if they did. I've always liked DeAngelo but I think he has one more decent season in him before he takes on a backup role. He'll prob be way overpriced if he hits FA. Hope we pass.
Says there is also a transition tag as well here. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...franchise-transition-tags-on-players-nfl-says Would the Dolphins risk putting a non exclusive tag on Soliai?
The injury issues bother me with Williams. What about Michael Bush? He seems to be increasing his production each season. Will they let him test the market? Can he be a feature back now?
Then by all means that should be the target... Let Ronnie walk. Keep Ricky he knew the Henning plan was a pile of garbage.
I don't see Bush getting out of OAK. They seem pretty high on him. Just saw a few articles w/Davis talking him up.
Agree it is a two back system there. The only other guy at RB position that I care about is BJGE. He isn't going anywhere. I'll hang on the Bush idea for now.
Of course Rock but I'm looking at guys who might realistically move. Bradshaw had 1200 yards rushing and 9 TD's he isn't going anywhere.
I don't know...... I could see them shaving Bush from their roster with how hairy things have gotten there. Just sayin.
Eh. You figure Asomugha is gone. It'd be between Bush and Miller. I'd take whoever gets out there. A bidding war for the most high-profile FA RB. I think NY will go far to retain him though. There's no way they can think Jacobs has much left and nobody else there is really proven.
As much as I like me some Bush, I'd prefer Miller. Maybe NY takes Mike LeShoure in the 1st round b/c they're unsure about Bradshaw's future, especially if Jacobs has little left. ????
I think it's funny how everyone just believes Mankins will come here if he's not tagged. IMHO, I don't think we get any top guys in FA because of the way our FO and owner looked just a couple weeks ago. I hope I'm wrong.
I don't know if Mankins will come here if he's not tagged. All I know is that we have shown interest in the past and I am sure we are willing to pay Mankins to come to Miami. I really don't see why you have come to the conclusion that "everyone believes Mankins will come here" based on the comments in this thread. And I don't think what happened with the whole coaching staff/Ross situation will affect free agency as much as people are making it out to be.
We would have to pay about 25% more then a team with a chance to compete for a playoff. Then we're getting players who just want the paycheck. How bad will they play when/if we start tanking?
Out of his ***, apparently. My apologies if he has had contact with Logan Mankins himself, but I doubt he has.
Why wouldn't they? Even if they don't want him in NE it'd be a complete BB move to ship him off for picks. I just don't see any reason for them to let him walk without getting anything in return.
Anytime anyone says the words Free Agents, the first thing listed is Mankins coming to Miami. I know this is a Dolphins site so I expect some of it, but it's insane. I'm willing to bet every other site is saying Mankins goes to their team too. I think it would be more realistic if we had a former coach on staff who he had bonded with and respected.
They have done so in the past. And I'm sure they'd love to avoid the bad publicity that tagging him would bring.
Since when does NE care about what the media thinks? They have nobody else even close to being worthy of a tag.
Not so fast! http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ague-claim-that-franchise-tags-are-available/ The union makes since over this, there is no CBA for 2011, so how can the league tag people when the tag is in the old CBA?
Irish has already shown respect for Mankins by inquiring earlier this year, that tends to resonate with a player, being wanted that is...So I would say that there is warranted optimism about the player relative to other teams.
I say dump them both. Ricky is hell bent to go and Ronnie is to fragile. The garbage pile of Henning went all the way up to Sparano who was approving the offensive strategy that his OC had submitted on every game. I am starting to think that Henning only did what he was told and was made out to be the ultimate fall guy for a bad head coach. Sporano put Henning in a no win situation. If he did what he was told to do he got booed by the fans, and if he didn't do as instructed he would have been fired. In the end I think Henning was smart enough to know that if you have a mouth full of $hit - spit it out. You'll notice that he wasn't fired, he quit. Which means that he did as he was told to do and was unhappy because of it.
Technically the old CBA has not run out yet. So, teams may tag players but if no CBA by March 4th, then in effect, the tag was useless. Sure, they own the rites to the player until March 4th but after that , with no CBA, the tag is useless. If there is a new CBA prior to March 4th ? who knows. Guess they would have to go by whatever was in the new agreement but I am not thinking we are going to see a deal until earliest, sometime in April.
