Why do I get the feeling the Manning bidding has reached the calm before the storm?

Some teams waiting until the 11th hour to bid?

    Maybe...

what is the rules for bidding at the end? Is there like a 10 minute add on to each bid after 11:55pm or something?

There aren’t any special rules at the end. You either get the player or you don’t.

Well, I'm just saying...it seems like everyone is just going to wait until there is 5 seconds left in the bidding to PM their bid amount. I would assume, that with each bid inside the last 5 minutes, there will be an extra extension to make things fair.

Anyone has 3 chances to put in their bid ... I would say that if another team was worried about getting eBay'd at the last minute that they'd go ahead and up their bid as a precautionary measure.

    But that's just me.

If there’s a flurry of bids, then it’s still fair, because they had 24 hours to make their bid.

The highest bid wins, so whoever made the highest bid in this last second flood would win the player.

The only thing I would suggest is putting in your highest bid and hope it wins out. You might over pay a player but that is better than losing him to a bid lower than your max because of a time deadline.

not saying that we should change the way this works, but i think that is stupid on ebay. thats not an auction. an auction doesnt have an exact time limit. it ends when no one raises the bid for a certain amount of time. hence, going, going, gone. not, 3, 2, 1, you were the last one to get your bid in. since this is not an auction i dont feel the same way, but for ebay i think its stupid. a 5 minute rule would drive up sales figures for them.

I still think there should be some sort of guideline or rule put in place. If you lose in the last second with a bid that you could have easily matched, that would be you losing by luck. Not strategy. I'm just sayin. It would be more fair for everyone if each bid within the last few minutes would extend the bidding by a few minutes.

    ^ this.

if you lose because you were lowballing your true high offer, then its your own fault. risk vs reward. low risk, greater chance of a lesser reward. high risk, lesser chance of a higher reward.

Risk vs Reward. It's their own decision to either raise their bid or make their final bid their max.

11 PM. Time to get some popcorn, the flood of bids are going to roll in soon. I’m surprised there’s only one RFA being bid on.

Agree, just trying to raise the prices on people, not serious IMO. Maybe someone calls the bluff and gets two firsts. I know i would if there was a bid on Marcades Lewis. :-)

It's not lowballing when you are spending 7+ mil. It just gives everyone an unfair disadvantage tbh. There should be some rules.
