http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_football_dolphins/ I like this move, but don't like that it appears Richie I will be leaving.
It just says Richie is not expected to be the LG , but doesn't say he is not in play for another position.
IMO it would be a huge mistake letting him walk. But I guess my opinion of his is mostly influenced by the game in 2009 (I forget who it was against) in which he played every position on the Oline. To me that is just invaluable.
This is what I mean about Omar, I was at camp, Garner played LG about one day, the next day they switched again and Incognito and Proctor was in there and then Nate got injured in the AM practice. Each time they switched someone to the 1s for a few series, Kelly put it up as this guy was with the 1s today to make people believe this one or that one was in the lead. Everyone got reps with the ones. He never once, not once, put in Murtha replaced Long or Carey, which he did and have reps with the ones. They'tre not letting Incognito walk, no way. Him and Soliai were the only two the team had been working with since November on new contracts. The day is young. Padre, with all due respect, you insert things you imagine in between the lines where nothing even exists.
I didn't know Garner's injury was at the same spot...thats not good.... The guy writes an article on the tender but doesn't include the round... We'll see if Sparano gets this project right..unbelievable..
It was the Carolina game Versatility builds value. If Garner can stay healthy he will start at G this season.
I imagine they inserted a rod or something there. Now is the same like glueing wood, it will never break in that spot again. Nate is a good player and I am glad they kept him.
Maybe, I think the CBA and Richie's contract demands may have been outside of what they were looking to pay, but who knows, his body of work in 2010 was not that great at LG, let him test the market if he leaves, he leaves.
Richie Incognito not that good of a player. He's a middling guard with not a whole lot of athleticism, and whatever measures he took to avoid penalties neutered whatever viciousness he had. They can most certainly do better, and not particularly expensively either.
I agree. Another smart move for us. Garner is EXTREMELY versatile. He is also young and talented. OL is not a high priority for the Dolphins right now. We got bigger fish to fry.
